I just saw the play Phantom this afternoon and of course have the DVD Phantom of the opera, I love the music in Phantom of the Opera - how could you not.
But Phantom gave the Phantom a name (Erik) and a father, and an explanation of his face - a birth defect.
Have you seen Phantom? Did you like it? Have you seen Phantom of the Opera? Which did you like better?

It has a fantasy that it inspires: that there is for each and every one of us a person we so admire but are not able to reach either because of circumstance or choice.

The first time I saw Phantom was the TV version (1990) with Charles Dance as Phantom. It was SUPERB. I fell in love right away with it. Then I bought the book "Phantom of the Opera" and again I fell in love with it as it gave a more detailed account of Erik. ;-D
Then it came on the big screen, but I still prefer the 1990 version and the book. I'd LOVE to watch Phantom of the Opera inside a real opera house, though. I also have the CDs of the real opera music (with Michael Crawford as Phantom). I LOVE the songs!!! ;-D
