Just wonderin' my dear myLot friends which do you prefer? Ebooks or books. As for me, I have slowly been switching to ebooks because I am always mobile and always carry my laptop with me. But I do still miss flipping the pages and smelling the book itself while reading. ..what about you?

Hiya Dinxcarin, Well I cant really read for too long from my monitor. It really messes with my eyes, so I have to say I enjoy a real book more. Plus I like curling up on the sofa with one and really get into it. I cant very well do that with my desktop! lol Maybe if I had a laptop my choice would change. I also like browsing the books at the book store or library so that would also be lost using ebooks. Cant let technology take over everything now can we? hehe Bay Lay Gray xx

Hi Bay, I feel the same way too when I stay too much in my laptop. sometimes i get the back and shoulder aches, Worst a migraine. Like you, until now, I still love to visit my favorite bookstore too and browse some goods books around. I don't know but I just can't help it. I love the way a bookstore smells, like the Borders (If you are familiar with it). Everytime I go out , I couldn't help but spend time in a bookstore and just hang around with all the books around me. Sometimes a day or two not even enough..What books are you reading by the way?

Oh I've heard of Barnes and Nobles too. Think it's like Borders here in Singapore. it's good thing you have your own library. I am wishing to have one someday so I could just spend my time reading anything I want in the comfort of my own home. But then again, I must get my own place first .hehe! I haven;t read any fictional book lately. Honestly, I am engrossed lately in reading the Bible. Not being so religious but I find the Bible so interesting after I have watched The PAssion Of the Christ. Also, I find reading it each day revitalises my energy. Lots of interesting characters in there too..and parables. For fiction..I used to read Harry potter ..and some self-help books.

Hi Din! Well Ive heard of Borders, but we dont have them where I live, we have Barnes and Noble or...well hell....my mind just went blank! LoL I cant think of the other book stores we have around us. I like my library, its a great quiet place to go and check out some books. They have nice little nooks to sit in with comfy chairs to enjoy. Its great! I havent been doing much reading lately, not like I used to anyway. The last thing I read was Augusten Burroughs "Running with Scissors". It was delightfully yet disturbingly entertaining! LOL I would like to get some of his other books as well. What about you? What did you read last? Bay xx

I prefer books. It's easier on the eyes. Not to mention it feels more cozy to cuddle on a chair with a book than it is to cuddle on a chair with your laptop or ebook reader.

I prefer books more than ebooks. I've only read one ebook. It was given to me by my sister. I had difficulty reading it because I have to constantly scroll down to keep up with my reading. And I can't lie down while reading. I know, it's wrong to read while lying down, but that's what I've been used to doing. I may start reading while sitting, but I'll always end up lying, trying to find a comfortable position as the story progresses. I can't do that with ebooks. My back was soon sore. And the good thing with a book is that it isn't that heavy to bring around.

Ya it's quite true. There are indeed advantages and disadvantages between reading ebooks and a real book. Maybe it depends on a person's lifestyle. Thanks for the reply swirlz..:)

For me, as long as it's not about news, I prefer to read book than ebook. I like to read books especially before I go to bed, then will put it next to my bed when I feel sleepy or even fall asleep. I couldn't not do it with ebook, beside I don;t use laptop , I'm still using normal PC

That's good for you. :) I don't like to read news too. It's not that I hate it but I don't want to feed my mind with so bad and negative things in life. Infos would be fine. What books are you reading by the way? I tried reading on my bed but it doesn't work on me because I fall asleep everytime.Heheh!

I don't have a laptop, so I prefer books because I do enough reading on the computer anyways, between my e-mails and my sites, and to get cozy with a good book is something that can not be replaced..:)
