I joined mylots to meet other wanna-be writers. lol. I have two children's books in the works, one suspense book I'm working on, and many various articles. If there are other writer wanna-be's out there in mylot land, and you would like to have a writing friend that you can share ideas...critiques... and rejections with....I'm your gal!!

I'm a wanna be writer!!! And I recently decided I wanted to associate with other wanna be writers myself! Fancy that!
I had a column in a local newspaper where I lived for awhile, and various projects that I've started... a tandem story with a friend, a children's story, and a few others, but my problem is follow through! I haven't completed anything. I keep waiting for inspiration to hit, or I try to force myself to write even when I'm not inspired, but the short of it is that I'm not actually getting much writing done. You sound like you're rolling right along with your stuff. Lucky you!

Hi Zig,
WOW!! You wrote a column for a newspaper?! I'm soooo jealous. That's great. I
honestly believe that a writers biggest challenge isn't the writing...it's
the sticking to it!! lol.... must be a common disease caused from all the lead we use....no?
Well good try though huh? Have you seen the movie (an older film) called The
Funny Farm with Chevy Chase? He's a writer, and not only is his procrastination
hysterical, it reminds me of me, so every once in awhile I rent it...sometimes it
helps...usually I'm watching the movie rather than writing...go figure. Please
stay in touch, I'd love to share ideas. Thanks for responding.

Of course I've seen the funny farm! the little bird outside the window in front of his desk... that ridiculous expression on his face as he gazes out at it... sort of the stuff I would be doing instead of writing, and I would probably have a similar expression on my face!
Did you see the movie 'The Wonder Boys'? It's not really a comedy, but there are some funny parts in it. That was one of my favorite movies for awhile.
One time I made a crossword puzzle. I used a computer program to create and fill in the grid. Coming up with the clues was so fun and creative... I thought it was the work of a genius. So I submitted it to a newspaper and they rejected it because the editor felt it was 'too straightforward'. What? Was it supposed to be twisted and convoluted? I suppose what he meant was that it was too easy. Well, I never made another crossword puzzle again, let alone determinedly persist while the rejection slips started spilling off my desk. I seriously wonder if the fear that I will give up after my first rejection could have anything to do with my inability to finish anything!
