DO YOU LIKE TO HAVE YOUR HEAD TONSURED?

1. It is rite of shaving the top of head 2. It is followed in Christianity 3. It is followed among Buddhists for monks 4. It is followed in Hinduism - cutting of hair and offering it to a diety as a sign of prayer and dedication. 5. Some people for fashion, they get tonsured 6. Some people who have some problem with hair, get tonsured 7. In India, children's head is tonsured to get good growth of hair and also give the hair to diety. QUESTION IS: 1. Would you like to have your head tonsured? 2. Do you know any other reason why people get their head tonsured?

I dont think i will. I will look like a clown. Anyway, this is done mostly by males. I have never seen such a woman in my country. But i have seen parents doing this to small kids which i dont like at all. Also ssh, i have never known this is a practice in Christianity being a Roman Catholic myself. This is new knowledge. Can you please describe this if possible?

Thanks for your response. There is a place called THIRUPATHI in South India where more than million people get their head tonsured as offering to the god.
