Hello everyone! I am an engineering student, and I want to take up LAW after my engineering course. The problem is, I also want to take MEDICINE. I don't know if my mom would allow me because taking LAW or MED requires a lot of money. I am already planning on how I can save for LAW school.
The reason why I would like to take LAW is to renew our country. I know it sounds corny/mushy but this is the real reason. My country is facing a lot of problems and most of the officials are corrupt. I want to make a change!
I also would like to take up MED because my grandpa is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Though it may sound impossible, I want to find a cure for my grandpa and to other elders who are also experiencing it.
Please help me make a decision. Any suggestion will be accepted. Thanks! :) I will be waiting for your replies.

I think you should finish your engineering education. Because you can get more money than other jobs and you can find quick solutions for your problems. I know this is not fair but in this world, in our time you have money you have power to whatever you want even destroy all the world. Stay in peace my friend...

If you are indecisive for which is which to take first, I think you better take MBA for your next extension of your academic qualification. And then for DBA.
I am referring to your both indecisive option's reasons, one for your nation and another is for your grandpa's health. As both need money for treatment purposes, I think you can be a great successful businessman someday.
Once you got enough money you can make your investment for both sectors; medical center and legislation firm. where doctors and lawyers be your business partner and your employee as well.

You should take the course that really inspired you most. If you think that your heart is to help other people who are sick, then you are much qualified with the Medicine course.
On the other hand, if you have this vision to help your countryman in the near future, then taking Law is good for you.
However, you need to choose only one of those two courses. At the present time, you are taking engineering and are planning to save money first after graduating so that you will be able to take the course that you dream. I can say that you are doing a good decision.
For now, what I can suggest to you is to follow your heart and instinct. Take the course that really makes you change to a better person.
Have a nice day!

hi..i really appreciate the reasons you want to take up law and medicine.but its really hard to pursue both and also excel in both.so my suggestion is that you take up medicine.you dont have to become a lawyer to bring about change in your country.even as an ordinary citizen there are lots that can be done.so take up medicine , find a cure for alzheimer's and also try to reform your country.
i wish you all the success for your future.God bless you. iam really happy to see people who want to bring about change in their country's.i am sure that all will support you to the max....take care

You didn't stat a reason for taking engineering, but you did for law and medicine. Obviously you have goals for those 2 but not engineering. Maybe you should stop the engineering now and take one of the tohers as they have a reson. And deciding between law and medicine - maybe you could do something like get into law about medicine and help the patient with legal things while a doctor helps him with the health part. Decisions... you gotta make them but they are so hard. You want to help but it costs so much. Big dilema! But if you have the opportunity to do only one, do a pro and con list for each and the one that has the most pros and lest cons, let that be your decision. You wont' be dissapointed as you wanted to do it anyway, you just got some help making the decision. you can't do both.

I took up Engineering because I had no choice. I am also thinking about the financial status of our family. My plan is that after graduating from Engineering, I'll save money first and then study MED or LAW. What do you think?

My suggestion is to pick the one that matters most to you, Law or Medicine. As busy and as complicated as both fields are, you will not be able to effectively hold a career in both. Aside from that, have you looked into how long it takes to get through Law and Med schools? A long time! You would also not be able to manage going to school for both at the same time, due to money and time restraints. Pick the one you think you could make the biggest difference in. Good luck!

Here are my 2 cents. When I was starting out my BA I thought I wanted to be an elementary ed teacher until I did a direct field experience course. This course allowed me to do volunteer hours in the field of my choice. Thank goodness I did this because I quickly found out that the career I thought I wanted so badly was really something I could not see myself doing. My suggestion would be to continue on in your engineer track and see if there is any way you can find a course such as I was describing and volunteer in a hospital or with an attorney. If you can find a class like that, then go straight to the source and explain to them that you are interested and want to shadow them. You have noble ideas, but reality and nobility can be two different things. You might also want to see if you could do the same for engineering, you might find out that you will enjoy that just as much as law or medicine. Good luck with your studies and your decision.
