I have been reading some discussions on here about religion and I still can understand why so many people buy into this fairy tail.
If there was a god why would so much bad stuff happen and dont give me that rubish about god working in mysterious ways.
October 2nd my wife had a still born we had been trying for a baby for 7 years and still no luck yet there are slappers out there who only have to open thier legs to get pregnant these women who dont look after there children and are constantly pregnant yet when people in loving long term relationships try nothing. How would you bible bashers explain that.
Several years ago both my friend and I where stabbed by a burglar both recieved life threatening injuries and spent around 12 weeks in hospital. Thanks to medical science we both survived.
No on Sunday morning my Friend woke up coughing up blood as a direct result of being stabbed in the lung 4 years ago. around 10 mins after waking up he was dead. No my friend Carl. Had never hurt anyone in his life, would give you his last pound and would do anything for anyone yet at the young age of 27 he is dead when there are muggers, murderers and rapist who will live to 70 - 80 and spend 70-80 years hurting people.
How would you bible bashers expalin this is it as you say god works in mysterious ways or is it as i say. life is random caos no god, but actions and consiquences.
People are murdered every single minute of every single day Is this god or is there anyway YOU ARE WRONG.
If the bible was brought out on DVD it would be on the shelf right next to Harry Potter a magical fairy tail We have hard facts that can not be disputed about evolution by how does this compare to what the bible says. We know god created the earth bit in the bible is wrong so why would you believe the rest of it.
We where told that the word of god said dont eat meat on a friday but now its ok, where are told only men could be preachers and homosexuallity is wrong. whats happened has god come back to say Oh i got that wrong. Women can be priest, you can have a burger on a friday and lets homosexuals be
With so many conflicting stories and the countless people who have died in the name of religion isnt it time people started to think for themselve and not refer to a fairy tale wrote thousand of years ago.
We are human not sheep think for your self. You dont need a book to tell you whats right and wrong.

They will say that God made the world as a good and ordered world that was free from pain and suffering. Things would have stayed that way if humans had continued to acknowledge God for who he is. But when we failed to obey and respect him then the world became a place that was full of bad consequences. God let this happen because he gave humanity a free-will to decide how we live.

Religion is the main cause of war, that is why I am aethesist.
I want to beleive I really do, but I just don't see the point.
I've always had the impression at School that Religious Education was
just another boring History lesson, except based on hear-say & rumours.
Sorry to any belivers out there - but it causes more harm than good
in my view.

The point of the story is that Judaism was ordained by God as a sign and a shadow of the greater things to come. No, I'm not calling Jews to convert to "Christianity," because I am rejecting what we so often call "Christianity." What I'm saying is that God didn't institute a "religion" or a formalised belief system, He opened the way to bypass religion an have a real relationship with Him. No priests - we are all called to be priests. No veils - we are called to know Him directly. No elevated people, no holy ones - we are all called to be the saints of God. Religion is the curtain - the Box we put God in and try to charge people to see. But the truth is God doesn't fit in our box, or any box. That's why He invites us to know Him directly, without all the religious stipulations.

My grand father used to say religion should not cross your house doors as well as your mind into streets ..that means peoples belief should make them strong ..but the worst thing happening in this world is trying influence it on others ..trying to prove that they are superiors have led to all turmoil hapening this world..

i supose one perswons truth is another persons lie. In fact there is no objective truth just opinion, but the ego is too big to allow us to accept this. To accept that we are wrong is extremely difficult, even those like yourself who tell us we are wrong are only expressing your own opinion, you have no objective truth and may well be wrong yourself. you will find out the ultimate knowledge one day as will i. Until then you keep on telling anyone who holds different truths to you that they are wrong, as i will
blessed be

I'm all for being athiest. I'm all for being agnostic, but your point of view seems very narrowminded and judgemental. You got mad at the person who commented saying, "you're wrong', saying that she judged you, when that's basically what you were doing the whole blog.
I don't believe in religion. I don't believe in the Bible.
But I'm sorry, to reject faith in a higher being simply because there's bad in the world isn't fair. If there is a God it's not His job to keep people from acting stupidly. People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions for crying out loud. Bad things aren't occuring because they're isn't a God, they're occuring because it's in human nature.
It's fine to not believe in The Bible, I myself very much dislike when people blindly follow it, but it's not fair to bash on it like you did.
Oh, and the term "Bible Basher" are for those who bash on The Bible, criticise it. Those who support The Bible and its teachings are referred to as "Bible Thumpers". Just thought I would clear that up.

I totally agree with you! I have tried going to church and being religious and it wasnt for me at all! I jsut cant play the role of a sheep! Religion is contradicting, it is a money racket, and it has been the source of almost every war in mankinds history! Most religious people I know drink like fish on the weekend, cheat on their spouses and partake in illegal and imorral activities during the week only to go to church on Sunday to wipe thier sins away and be forgiven by god! What a BS system! I never do anything of those things and my religious friends tell me that I will not get into to heaven, etc. Why would I want to go to a heaven where a god shuns me for being a good person and will forgive a murderer because they repented! Its just insane to me!!

Repent means say your sorry, and demonstrate that sorrow by stopping. Those who decieve themselves by "repenting" on Sunday and living like hell the rest of the week will be surpriesed indeed when the Master says to them, depart, I knew you not.
Even as I write this the Holy Spirit is stirring in me because of sin that I treat the same way. Father, forgive me.
Christians are people, flawed, sinful people who have realized, hey, I can't do this! I can't be good enough to go to heaven. I can't break the cycle of sin in my life. I can't control the urge to do wrong that tempts me daily. But God can. I can't bless them that curse me, but God can. I can't forgive those who abuse me without remorse, but God can. I can't overcome temptation, but God can. And because God can, He can also extend to me His strength, His love, His righteousness, and with Him inside me, I can.
Hypocricy is hard to bear. It is truly sad that so many allow themselves to be carried away unaware of the consequences. And ususally the biggest sinners are the loudest preachers. But that doesn't negate the truth of the message. They seek to sooth an inflamed conscience because they know they are wrong.
However, God didn't call me to work out their salvation, or even yours. He calls me to work out my own salvation. The night Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter boldly proclaimed "Lord, I'd die for you this very night!" A few hours later, as Jesus was being dragged from one court to the next, Peter declared three times, even swearing oaths that he had never even laid eyes on Jesus. After Jesus ressurection, He went to Peter to restore him. During the conversation, Peter tried to turn the discussion to one of the other disciples. He said "Lord, what about him?" Jesus said "What does that matter to you. YOU FOLLOW ME."
God doesn't shun the good. God judges the evil, and we are all evil. If you demand it, God will judge you as well. If you demand God weigh your good against your evil, He will. And you will lose. But if you turn to Him, admit that you can't be good enough, and trust in Jesus' righteousness instead of your own, He will not only not judge you, but He will impart to you His Spirit, His will, His life, and His strength, so that we can live righ before the Lord.
If a hypocrite is standing between you and God, you have to ask yourself, who's closer to God?

Ahh, religion is not a count to blessing.
The true essence is believing. Ask anything in the universe as long as you believe and do something about it, it will happen!

A lot of people right now have been questioning if God is true or not or if God is here or not? Anyway, I know that they were able to say this one because of the things that happened in their lives.
I would like express this one as a believer of God. Perhaps I understand a little bit of what you feel about God, though I can never say I fully understand you because for of the fact that I am not you and I can never be you, and its only you knows how painful it is.
However, I want you to know that God really exists in this world, it is neither fantasy nor fairy-tales. The purpose of having a religion or I mean having a God is to keep yourself from thinking as a supreme being. All of us must be guided that there is a supreme being up there who is watching our every single moves, you know why? because without God people will claim that they are superior, that nothing can beat them, and imagine if this will happen, do you think the world will be at peace? The world will fall into darkness, killing everyone, hurting everyone.
Without God, nobody can save us in times of troubles and in times of great pains. I know that you have a lot if experiences that caused you too much pain, however, why not weigh all your experiences, everything that happened in your life, not just the bad one but also the good one. Most of us, we tend to count more on our sufferings, and we often forget to count our blessings, blessings that came from the supreme being. I know, and I strongly believe that for how many days of your existence do you think there are none that made you happy? Somehow it is a matter appreciating positive things that negative things.
Another thing is that, God can never be wrong, he is all knowing and powerful. The bible reflects the word of God, I believe in the bible so much. The one you are talking with about the meant thing and the homosexuals thing, yeah I agree with you it is really happening right now, but why not observe the world completely and read the bible seriously, and you will know that man has different interpretations, some have interpreted it in a bad way that can hurt others. It is a matter of understanding what is in the bible. If there are many of our fellow people cannot understand deeply what the bible is saying, let us help them all to understand every word the bible says. As I've said it is never wrong, though as human beings we tend to commit mistakes, and it is our mistakes to see and interpret the bible differently.
My friend, in our recent world where many men fell into darkness and sinned, it is not by thinking for ourselves that can make us survive from this world, but it is by thinking for the good of others, thinking for others first before thinking for yourself. We are human and not sheep and so we must think for others, we must be give love to others selflessly.
It might not in the book that we can learn the right and wrong, but it is how you respect others and yourself, it is how you respect God and it is how you fear God. If you fear God, you will fear to hurt others and you will fear to hurt yourself and hurt God. If you respect other people, you will not do things that can hurt them and can harm them either physically or emotionally and sometimes mentally. If you respect yourself, you will respect your life and you will love your life and take care of your life.
The book might not completely tell you what is right and wrong and what are those that to be done or not. Somehow it is by being clear and clean in our thoughts, speech and deeds.
I hope that you will not lose hope. Trust him, he is there to help you. He is willing to help you no matter what, and he never neglects no matter how down you are.
There things that happen in this world which I can never understand, which no one can understand, but whatever it is hold on tight on him for it is him, who knows everything.
