Think I'm Going To Give Up On Yuwie

I'm reaching the point of just plain giving up on Yuwie....and no it's not about the money either. I'm really beginning to think that maybe Yuwie just isn't very Mac computer friendly--lets face it most people have PCs while I'm a Mac user. Here are some of my gripes about Yuwie: 1). Too darn slow....I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I do try to get anything done at Yuwie, I'm waiting forever to get anything accomplished there... 2). While most folks can benefit from being able to have change of fonts, font colors, etc, especially if and when they do their blogs, I can't take advantage of it...I click on the fonts, font colors, etc. and nothing happens...the only way I've been able to change or add anything, is to add the HTML coding, which I'm a little savvy on, but believe me a pain in the "A" to do 3). Leaving comments....after trying to leave comments on friends pages more than five to ten times, I then get an additional "security" code I have to type in--guess to lessen spamming, but I'm not..I just want to leave comments. 4). Yuwie is the ONLY site that makes my computer freeze. After I'm on it for only a few minutes my computer acts up, freezes and I have to shut down then reboot. Yuwie is also the only site I get those annoying pop up ads, no doubt contributing to my computer acting sluggish or freezing. So------does ANYONE have any of these stupid, annoying problems with Yuwie? Or, is it as I suspect, maybe Yuwie just isn't Mac friendly?? There ARE a number of sites that aren't---and if it IS because Yuwie isn't Mac friendly, shouldn't they have accounted that there ARE Mac users out there?

I like yuwie, but like you, I have some problems with it too. There have been lots of times that my computer froze up, because of it. I have a PC, and I get that security message, after I send several comments too. It's a pain, for sure. Sometimes, it's very slow too. It's not just you, I think we all have problems with it.

I think they should have anticipated the "run" to join up over there as there are a lot of members there now, and wonder if the system is overloaded due to that.

I was just on there, and it was messing up. Now, it's down for maintenance.

I find there is trouble trying to get friends on Yuwie. Unless they join up with the same name as they have here, it is hard for me to find out. I go immediately to my site, and if I do get to theirs, I find that they have messed it up with so many picture and to think I cannot invite anyone to be my friend using my web email. I hardly use my isp email. It is just for mail that has not bee categorized yet. I do not have a Mac yet, and that will be used for writing purposes, which means since there is a blog on Yuwie, it will be hard to get in. They had better fix it and soon.

I found most people joined up at Yuwie with the same name as here, so I didn't have any problems finding them--and they are always fixing up things there, but doesn't seem to do any good, as I'm still having the same problems

Hello, You are not alone ! I love to blame Macs for problems, but in this case it would be plain unfair to do so! I run a PC with most of the above problems you listed happening to me on Yuwie too However, the problems change from day to day and at some times of day the performance is just wonderful! I see other people complaining about how slow it is - and I am racing along, sending comments, answering emails, without any errors codes. And then at other times it takes forever to just get to my control panel, let alone try and move from page to page ! The Site is growing rapidly, they nearly doubled their memberships in the month of October, so I am trying to practice being patient !!

I think a lot was poor planning on the part of the owners. They should have anticipated a lot of people to join up. MySpace has millions of people and there aren't any problems with them, they're never down for maintenance like Yuwie is.

I gave up on yuwie-I had page load problems when I would try to post a comment & besides it does seem nearly impossible to hit payout & that's why I joined. Plus it was a lot of work for little reward. +'s |:)

I found it to be sluggish and slow also. I don't know if that's because of dial-up...I'm sure there are other dial-up users there. I simply don't like the format. I don't understand it and I had problems navigating the site. I know these things take time but I have an active brain and I cannoy sit and wait for my computer to catch up. For me, it wasn't worth the trouble. I don't get to talk to a lot of my friends but hey...most said they'd never leave myLot, lol. There are a handful of folk I really miss but I feel the word "friend" is used rather loosely online anyway. Besides, I can make a little cash here and that gives me a good feeling.

No, I don't think it has to do with dial up as I have DSL which on every other site is fast, fast, fast, but on Yuwie I swear I could watch the grey hairs grow in. While I have a lot of "friends" over at Yuwie, the ones I really consider friends there are the same ones I have here. I think a lot of folks at Yuwie make friends request just to lenghten the list for show purposes if you know what I mean, and then you never hear of them again. Like the weird friend requests I'll get here, who have zero points for a month..like WTF?? Weird

I've had several friends from here send me links to Yuwie but something told me to just wait a while and see if any of them start complaining about it here. Guess my hunch was right with all the complaints I've read about it, not just from you but many others as well.

Hi pye, Honestly I have never really "gotten" yuwie. I really enjoy mylot because it's basic and not confusing. Yuwie is slow, confusing as heck, and I'd rather spend my time here, so here is where I shall stay! £µv & Hµgzz¸ ¥øµr Frìëñd¸ Pµrþ|ëTëddýßëâr.

Some days Yuwie runs fast for me, and other days it runs slow. I haven't been there in about a week. I don't seem to be making any money. So I don't think I'm gonna stick with it. I only joined because a friend of mine told me how great it was.

Hi Pyewacket... I am surprised to hear you are still there. Maybe I am having brain burps but I was sure I responded to a discussion here where you were fricking fracking the site when you weren't pain and had given up on it then. As I have said maybe I am having a pre-senior moment here. Anyway whatever...you are obviously still fricking fracking the site and I guess my question would be...why bother? I asked my computer tech Sweetie and he says that they started out in Bata...and maybe have moved beyond that by now. That was one of the many reasons I didn't get involved with it in the first place beta format usually has bugs to work out. Secondly not wanting to spread myself too thin. In David's experience with sites like they have probably grown too big...too fast and their server cannot accommodate the rapid growth. If they do not have the funds to increase their output the problem will probably continue...so like I said...why bother? Raia

I guess it's hard for me to let go of the site, cause I did put a lot of work on it, and have a lot of fantastic videos, photos and so forth on it--I was able to design a much more pleasing looking profile page there. Even the layout/design is a work of art....LOL

OK...that makes sense. I wasn't aware you had invested so much time and energy into that site. Have you thought about doing a Blog and running your photos images through Photobucket as a link. That way you could write...attract traffic and have your time and energy invested in something that you would be known for. I did mine under my registered writing company Perspectives On Healthy Living and have been happy with the responses to the content and I haven't promoted it anywhere other than mentioning it to members here. I find it is a great reference point for editors to check out...and I plan to use it and my homepage as a marketing took rather than flip/flopping all over the place. I find that if I find one or two things that work and stick with that my energy is more focused and the energy builds rather than having my attention spread to thin. Anyway just some ideas that are working great for me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with Yuwie. From all the negative reports I am reading for my my view remains the same it was from day one. Yewie??? Patooie!! LOL Cheers, Raia

Hhhmmm, I don't know what the problem would be. I would say, given the other responses you have received, that it is actually an issue with the site itself. It could also be that there are lots of people on there at one time and the people who run it haven't taken this into account. Good thing I'm not a member there, I hate slow computer activity! lol. No, I definitely don't need another excuse for spending more time in front of my computer! lol.

I have mostly the same problems you have with Yuwie and I'm not a Mac user so I don't think it's due to that. I'm spending less and less time there now, partly due to those problems. Also though I don't really have that much spare time and I think of the two sites I prefer myLot so I'm more inclined to spend the time I do have on here. It's not that I dislike Yuwie but it just requires more effort I guess. This is much easier so it appeals to my lazy side lol.

It is finally nice to see someone with a mac. i don't belong to Yuwie. I have see alot about it though my sites, but I know what you are talking about with all your problems. I have been a mac user for 15 years or more. I have had many problems with all the sites because I am a mac user. So last year I went out and bought a windows laptop. Now I have all these virus problems and freaky computer problems. I am not sure if this helps, but I don't think it is so much as the Yuwie site. You hang in there mac user. Some day us mac users will have it all.

Yea!! Another Mac user...hehe. Yup, we Mac users don't have to worry about those pesky viruses. We Mac users are a different breed apart. I think with all the problems PC users have more and more will switch to Macs. I've heard horror stories of the new Windows program, Vista. So glad I don't have to worry about that

I have many problems on Yuwie. No, I don't use Mac, your problem is not Mac related. When you see self staring music player, guestbook or self playing video, better run away...or you will have to restart your computer.... Those applications are not related directly to Yuwie, people are getting it from other source. Some of those applications have spyware in. Just stay away from guestbook’s and to busy pages and you can be fine. Also try to make your page simple, because this is what can cause the problem too.

I can't stand the fact that I can't get decent help on customizing my profile and how some have their blog background in different color so that their profile background doesn't show through. When the profile background shows through, makes my blogs very hard to read...
