What's wrong with Fruit Loops?

Not sure why I never noticed this before, but the Fruit Loops cereal box mis-spells the word "fruit". Never noticed that before. Of course, I haven't eaten fruit loops since I was a kid. So, maybe they used to be spelled "Froot Loops". But, when I was five years old, I didn't know how to spell, so it didn't look odd to me. Recently, my little kid started eating Fruit Loops every morning for breakfast and that's when I noticed it. Has it always been that way? Have they always spelled it, "Froot Loops" instead of "Fruit Loops"? Just wondering.

Its just another one to help kids mispell things..I cant stand stand it when they do this..There is a toy company 'play skool' now thats pathetic, how on earth are the kids supposed to learn the correct spelling of things..and these are companies that specialise in childrens stuff.I dont know how they get away with it..LOL...it just gets up my goat..i hate it..its not right..

It is kind of silly the way companies purposely spell things wrong. When I was in first grade I spelled fruit "froot" and my mom couldn't figure out why it was so hard for me to spell it right. We have a bank in town called "Dacotah" bank or something. It's so dumb. We live in North Dakota, it's not like they don't know how to spell it.

A lot of foods and food products purposely misspell their names or descriptions. Froot Loops has always been Froot Loops as far back as I can remember, and I am probably twice as old as you are. This is part of why our kids cannot spell worth a darn. Light meals are lite meals, and I know that there are other examples out there, just cannot think of them right now. Hubby says Miller Genuine Draft should be Draught.
