School Days

School days - Enjoyable or not?

Did you enjoy your days in school or did you hate it? I loved my school days. Well, I had my share of good and bad teachers and didn't like some aspects of school. But on the whole, I learnt a lot about life and enjoyed the time with my friends. My husband hated all his teachers (though he was a brilliant student) and speaks very badly about his school teachers. I'm glad I didn't go to his school. What about you? Do you think you enjoyed your school days and miss them or are you glad you finished school and don't have to go back ever?

I did enjoy my days especially when I was in high school. Those were the days that real friendships starts... A bonding that will last a lifetime because of the good times that I shared with my friends. Then perhaps made it even more stronger because of the obstacles and heartaches that each of us experienced. My group of friends in my high school days made it easier for me to cope up with my studies and then later on, to cope up with the trials and tribulations in my life. I'm glad that school helps bring the best friendships.... It's been 12 years already since we left high school and I'm so lucky that my "band of brothers" still support each other even until now.

I enjoyed myself school life to the fullest. I could never forget my school days. School is one place you can have maximum. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. Even I didn't like a few teachers, but that's ok. And I was very mischievous in my school days. Especially, in high school, we used to have a lot of fun. By the way, I was a last bencher. We used to sit in the back and do sorts of cranky things. :) Good old days to remember.

In my experience, front benchers were the naughty lot (I was a shorty and always in the front bench). The teachers always expected the back benchers to be upto something and kept an eye on them. So, we got to do a lot of naughty stuff in the front..lol

I dont missy my school days but they werent that bad. College is much more my style. No forced socializing or school events. And you get to take what you want for the most part. Great question sviswan.

Thanks. I'm not sure where you are at (or rather were at school) but we didn't have any forced school events. There were lots of kids who didn't even turn up for the school events and no one bothered about them. Anyways, thanks for the response. There are different kinds of schools and people enjoy it differently.

When I started to work and think about my school days, especially high school, that's the only time I realized how muich I did miss those days. Back then, I only look at it as playing while learning new things. When college, all became serious as we need to exert more effort to finish term papers and thesis. These all are what I always think of, good and bad times. I sometimes wish that I could study again, but I guess this isn't the right time yet since I have to consider my future and work hard first.

You can study anytime once you put your mind to it. I have started studying again after a break of 7+ years. It was hard at first...with a job and family to be taken care of. But I started enjoying it once I got down to it. All the best!

I liked school at first, I was interested in literature, but there was one teacher I hated. In fact, everyone in the school hated. However I should have gone ahead one grade, but because I was born in the wrong month, and they thought I was too young, I was not allowed to. That meant that I was often reading stuff ahead of the other students. As for wishing I would be there, no way. Even though I was good at school, except for math, I was picked on by one girl and when I laughed hysterically after the other girls went after her, the teacher misunderstood, and that is when I began to not like school. I studied all right, but to me it was no longer a place to make friends, but a place that you learned academics until you graduated.

Some teachers can be the wrong guide and make a child who would otherwise enjoy school to hate it! Some teachers feel their role is to teach academics alone and do not realize the lasting impression that they make in a child's mind.

I feel a little a bit of both.My first 2 years of school, i was in a private school. It was fun and I had a great time, but when I was in third grade, I moved and started public school. It was hard and I hated it. But the next year was okay.By the time I was in the 4th or 5th grade, I started in orchestra and it was great.I had some bad teachers but most were okay.My best year was my Junior year of highschool, my second to last year of highschool.Everything fell into place. I had a great academic year and the orchestra brought home a gold medal at our competition. And I had the best of friends that year.So it was good and bad.

How can forget schools days. Those were the most memorable part of our life. I do remember my school days, teachers and school. We used to have great fun with in school. some of the teachers were outstanding and their contribution is unforgettable in our life. Some school time friends were really exceptional, but they are not in touch with me right now. Excellent Post! Deepak

School days were terrible, but they were better than being at home. I used to cry on the last day of school every year. It was going to be a long summer without books and we didn't have very many in my home, nor was I allowed to travel to a library when I was a kid and under "parental control." College was better, of course, but there was always the struggle to know where the money for tuition and books and room and board was going to come from. The whole first year of college I borrowed all of my textbooks from the library because I couldn't afford to buy the books, even though I always had several jobs in addition to going to classes. I went to school quite a bit longer than most people, because after 12 years of grade school and high school and then after four years of college, I continued for another eleven years of graduate school. I remember saying the day we finally shipped my completed dissertation off, "Nobody can every make me take a class again!" But now I have all these fancy letters I can put before or after my name, so probably it was worth it.

My husband went through the same thing as you did. But he made a great teacher and I'm sure you are one too. I love learning and wish I never could STOP taking a class! But if I had to do it as long as you did, I probably would have never wanted to take one again.

Not only that i enjoyed my school days, but also, it laid foundation to my carrer. Our school was one of the top in the district. Equal importance was given to all the activities. Having held various positions in the school definetley helped me in moving ahead in my career. Learnt very useful lessons of the life.

Hi SViswan, I guess I really didnt appreciate school until I went back to college. I really didnt like High School very much, I wasnt one of the popular kids so to speak, and it made it really hard. I mean I had good friends, and I have good memories of HS, but I didnt enjoy going like I should have. Ive come to enjoy learning new things now that Im older, and I find myself always finding out about something. My hubby says he admires that about me. :) That makes me feel good. I just finished a college course for Medical Billing, I loved it. I learned so much about the human body, as well as insurance companies and medical billing forms and the types of government insurance. It was great! Now all I need to do is find a job.. hehe Bay Lay Gray xx

i enjoy you school days, it was precioius, I think one"s happies life should in shcool. when we are a student, we just considering how to learn better, do not to need worrying about money, and we can no meet many bad things in sociality. our life enviroment is purer than socielity, so we are happier, after we graduate and statd to work,we must consider how to earn more money, how to get along well with colleages, when can we buy our own house and so many factor, we can not happy as same as we are a student.

Oh my school days were great! I honestly miss those days and wish I could get back to my school. Those days were awesome. I think my scool days were from the best days of my life. I used to enjoy every moment there without any tension and burden. Exept from the load of studies, I didnt had any other responsibities. I still remember that I had a very big freinds circle of about 50-60 freinds. We used to enjoy a lot. My school life was even better than my college life. I am in 2nd year now in college but I realy miss those days when I and my freinds used to tease our class teachers and other chidren in my school...... Personaly, I think that school life is the best part of ones life.....
