LOL thats just funny to me...I know numerous women who can drive circles around men and I know many men who can't drive to save their souls ;-) Gender has nothing to do with it....

*agreement*
My best friend (a girl) was a natural at driving, she didn't even have to take a whole bunch of lessons to learn.
On the other hand I know plenty of men who're the same as well.
As Ravenlady said. Gender has nothing to do with it.

I think it depends on the individual, not on the gender.

I'm saying what people say frequently, not what I belive.I agree with most of you that gender is not a matter in driving skills.

I think there are women that are good drivers and women that are bad drivers, just like there are men that are good drivers and men that are bad drivers. Some women give other women a bad reputation as being bad drivers. I sort of understand now. With 3 kids in the car its a little hard to stay completely focused on what you are doing. But I consider myself a good driver. I've never had an accident.

I drive, and I've been driving since I was 18, so I cannot say that women can't drive. In all my years of driving experience, I have not had one single accident on the road. I can drive fast, I can drive slow, but I always drive defensively. My passengers are always safe with me. I know a lot of men who think they're great drivers when they drive real fast. But these are the same men whose cars have scratches and dents everywhere, are caught by police very often and are usually in car accidents too.

Personally I don't agree with that. There are also man that can drive perfectly well. I do not know why they say women can't drive. There is no scientific reason for that. There are also women that kind drive better than man. That's what I thought. :)

And you thought it well, though. There isn't any scientific proof for that yet as far as I know.

Actually I think it's just some women who are bad at driving.. and they can be like.. driving really slow even though there's no traffic. Most of the time when I see lousy drivers.. 90% of the time, they are females.. I'm not sexist.. since I'm also a female.

Women aren't that bad at driving, but they still lag far behind men.. Its nothing to grudge abt, but women don't seem to have the right reflexes that r needed for driving.. They r way too slow as well.. They r always cautious on the road.. I think that sums up...

Personally in general I dont think women are bad drivers. On the other hand I do know alot of women who are. It just seems to me like they just dont the much attention. Particularly younger women.

In the U.S. women get lower auto insurance rates than men. 'Nuff said? They get those rates because they get into fewer accidents. Does that make them "better" drivers? I don't know. Just as an example: my wife has been in one accident and it wasn't her fault. I've been in six and two of them were my fault. I've gotten at least six speeding tickets that I can remember. My wife got one about fifteen years ago. I'm going on six years without now (knock on wood) but that's more a testimony to dumb luck than me changing my ways.

I don't believe that women can't drive. I personally drive and I've even tried driving in a foreign country. But I think it's really up to the person, regardless of gender, how he or she drives.
My brother is a fast driver, but he's gotten a bunch of tickets already. I haven't gotten any tickets. So when you say "better," do you mean someone who drives faster or someone who has more common sense to follow the rules like speed limits and stuff? I admit my brother is better when it comes to overtaking other cars and weaving in and out of traffic and stuff, but I'm better at keeping my head cool when driving. :)

I'm not really sure if I believe that women are better than men when it comes to driving because I think it all depends on the person, not the gender. I've known girls that should not of gotten their license as well as men.
I've had my license for over 6 years and I've only had 1 ticket and it was for a rolling stop that I didn't even do and it was proven in court. I have never had an accident where I was the one driving the vehicle. *knock on wood*

Good for you! I still don't have a driving license but when I do I'll do my best to prove myself and show that even women can be good drivers. Thanks for your response!
