4 Quirky Things About Me

United States

I can only drink water if it is in a bottle. When I wake at night to go to the potty, I keep my eyes closed so I don't become fully awake. (I have walked into the door numerous times!) I love banana and mayonaiise sandwiches. I can swim in the frigid waters of the ocean, but can't bear to take a cold shower. Now it is your turn. What 4 quirky things are you willing to share with your MyLot buddies?

Well, Elusive, I find at least 2 of those things singularly odd! I guess my 4 would be: I've never liked eating or drinking from plastic containers; I can walk into a room in my apartment and immediately tell if anything has been moved; I won't walk barefoot ANYWHERE; and I used to cut my hair whenever I was unhappy with myself. So now you know my terrible secrets.

I cut it more times than I care to remember through the years, webeishere, but I quit when I found out I was doing it for the wrong reasons.:)

We all have our quirks. I won't drink soda out of a can, but I will drink it out of a plastic bottle, but my favorite is in a glass glass on ice. I love ketchup as a condiment, tomato sauce, pizza, etc. but I hate tomatoes. Can you figure that out? I can't stand those foam coolers, when they bounce around and make thats squeeking noise. When i put on sweaters and other pull over the head clothing I have to stretch the neck out so I don't feel claustrophobic. Boy when I read this i feel really quirky. Oh well

I can't stand the squeeking noise that coolers make. When I transport them they are always in the trunk of the car. I stretch out even a turtleneck sweater, but often take it off because I feel like it is choking me!

Hello Elusive Butterfly. 1. I also do the same when I go to use the bathroom as I don't want to make myself wide awake after using the bathroom. Otherwise it would be difficult for me to fall asleep again. 2. I can bear cool water for shower, but I can not bear cold water for shower in the cold weather. I will be shivering with cold. 3. I can stay online till two o'clock, but I can not suffer from getting up as early as six thirty on the morning of winter. 4. I can stay working in a quiet place, but I cannot concentrate on my work in a noisy atmosphere and my work would be inefficient under such circumstances.

In the summertime I can take a cool shower, but have to work my way down from warm. I just can't take that cold blast!

Hi Elusive, I have to have a light on no matter what...I am afraid of the dark...I am very independent but at the same time very dependent on my husband...I am a constant backseat driver, even in the front seat...I like onion sandwiches...

I too am a backseat driver. Hubby doesn't care for it, but hey, it sure beats getting into an accident.

What an imaginative & fun topic!!! It will give me great pleasure to respond! I can't wear hats because they make my brain feel constricted, but I keep buying them anyway. I've got a beautiful hot pink straw hat and I periodically change the scarf around it but I never wear it. I vow to wear it to the horse races one day though, because it's so big and floppy...even if I ultimately take it off and just carry it around. I have a favorite tree and I like to stand with my back against it and pretend that my leafy branches are drawing light energy in and sending it down to my roots, and that my roots are drawing earth energy in and sending it up to my leaves. I wear combat boots with everything. I'm 55 years old (I think) and Pippi Longstocking and Nancy Drew are still my heroins. I have a mannequin and I dress her up in all the clothes I have that I love but can't wear... like the 130 dollar handmade corset in size 32B (I wear a size 38C). What I was thinking when I bought it I can't even remember, although it had to have been something really stupid & unrealistic. Yeah, I know, that's 5. And there are even more than that, but I'll stop there.

Attribute the purchase of the corset to Gone With the Wind syndrome. Blame it on Scarlett.

I, too try to walk in the dark to go to the bathroom for the same reason, but I don't keep my eyes shut. I put my hands out in front of me and it keeps me from running into things with my nose. I'm 5 foot 3 inches tall and have people over 6 feet tall who wouldn't tangle with me for love or money because they think I'm tougher than they are. I rock without a rocking chair. I'd like to enter a rocking chair contest because I rock contantly, I should be able to beat everyone. I can eat marshmallow fluff by the spoonsful straight from the jar, but can't do that for anything else (like jelly, jam, etc.).

I love to rock and can rock without the use of a rocking chair.
