I don't know...If the temperature is the same as in your house then they should be fine...I have a huge one I brought in and it is here in my office...I water it and it is doing fine...When I put it outside it really grew well....Give it a try and see what happens...

There are a lot of variables involved as far as plants in the
basement. If it's a plant that needs sunshine then no, it should
be kept in a southern window preferably. Also some plants need
warmth more than a basement provides, unless the basement has heat vents. I don't have that so all my houseplants stay upstairs. I
set them in the living room, dining room, bedrooms, and also in
the office. Pleanty of room for all mine.

If they're perennials they should be fine in the basement. Perennials have a dormant stage to get through the winter, so they will die back somewhat, and they don't need much light, heat, or water during this time. Then when the weather warms up again they can go back outside to be revived. It does depend on the types of plants though, without knowing what they are I don't know for sure the best way to overwinter them.

As long there are still sun light in your basement. If don't your plant will not grow well, and not green enough. I also had some plant in my room before, and after I moved it outside with a small pot, the colour of the plant become more bright than before.

as long as the temperture is ok and there is plenty of light they should be ok,if you see them starting to wilt a little then i would get like a ultra violet light for them.keep them watered too.pattie
