There were 2 cop cars with their lights flashing right outside of our neighbors house...Parked infront of them was a dish network truck with one guy inside...Not sure what it was all about at first but I got nosy and was pretending to check something out on my front porch and overheard the one officer yelling at the dish network guy about taking the cops cable dish...So I am assuming that he was pulled over for stealing the cops cable dish...They were out there for like an hour..Not sure how long before we got home...good grief....I hate to be nosy but just couldn't resist the urge to see what was going on...LOL..Are you a nosy person or is it out of concern?

Nosy..or is it nosey? Anyway, I'm definitely nosey when it's close to home. Some neighbors of mine were in a big argument that caused the cops to come and I sat on the porch for about an hour (maybe it was an hour and a half...) at 1:00 in the morning trying to overhear everything. Is that terrible or what?

That's funny, maybe the cop didnt pay his bill and that's why the cable dude had his dish ? But I think it's human nature to stick your nose out there and see whats going on, especially when there are flashing lights. We had them down the road the other night as the cops were doing a blitz on under age drinking on the streets and it was a pretty good night for sitting on the upstairs verandah and watching it all.

Oh its always out of concern. I see people being pulled over all the time in front of my house. So of course I have to go out there and pretend Im not looking but really I am.LOL

I try to not be nosy, but if something like that was happening around my home, I would be very concerned especially since I have a 5 year old. I would want to know if there was any danger at all.. So the dish network guy took the policeman's dish? I can't understand why he would do that, but then again, who knows why many people do what they do..

LOL..I would probably do the same thing, especially if it was so close to my own home, otherwise I dont think that I would bother, Im sure that I would find out eventually what happened..

I'm a little of both. We have a police scanner ere so I get to hear everything that's going on within the county and some of the surrounding counties even if it involves the state police. Sometimes I listen just to be nosey...like when a guy got pulled over and had an expired license and an expired tag that didn't match his vehicle. That was interesting. t other times it's something that is nearby or near someone I know and then I listen out of concern.

If the police are involved I mind my own business. If it is just people in general, I will ask if there is anything I can do to help them if it looks like someone is in need. If it looks like a dangerous situation, I won't interfere in person, I just call 911 and let the police handle it.

Whoa whoa....the guy stole a cable dish from a cop!? LOL How dumb can you get. Was it your neighbor who stole the dish, or just the cops got him stopped in front of your neighbors? I think it's okay to get nosy in those kinds of situations. I'm pretty nosy sometimes! lol.

Both but in most cases (when they arent at my schools or home) I am just nosey. That sounds like something that would be on the funniest video or stupid criminals! LOL silly cable guy for stealing from a cop.

Well, first of all, this whole story still confuses me just a little bit: the cops were fighting with a the cable guy in the truck about stealing the cops' cable dish....? Where was the cops' cable dish? Where did the cable guy in the truck "steal" the cable dish from? Furthermore, I swear! that this all sounds like a sting operation.*laughing* but no seriously! Maybe there could have been some sort of undercover thang going on and the cops just ambushed... or maybe that REALLY was a cable guy and he had intercepted some sort of information the cops needed... Well, I don't know... obviously. But as for being nosy... I think it's our human nature to want to know what others are doing. Additionally, people are even more fascinated by other people's misfortune and the obstacles they jump everyday. Which is why we all love reality television so much. But if I had been in your situation, I honestly would have just walked out and yelled over to them, "So, what's going on out here?"*laughing* I know this seems absurd; however, it IS in front of your house (or near it) and you have a right to know what's going on in your neighborhood. For all you know, the police could have been there on merits of a convicted killer, or a domestic issue. You never know. Then there's the issue of "rubbernecking" while driving. I like to see what happened and how bad the accident is too but I don't think that means EVERYONE needs to SLOW DOWN to check it out. I am constantly being held up in traffic after moving with ease along the highway- stopped traffic for... oh, how long...? and THEN, you get up to the scene and why everyone is slowing down... and what is it??? but a car with a flat tire that has pulled itself over to the inner lane where cars do not travel- but yet, we are still slowing as if this very car IS stopped in a traffic lane. Just something that I find interesting and how much something so little can effect us all. But yet, we are all nosy- whether anyone would like to admit to it or not.
