About wars

None of it makes any sense to me, trickomm! We (the USA) went into Afghanistan to go after ther Taliban and BinLaden but then we pretty much abandoned that mission and headed to Iraq, for what no one knows for sure because the reasons have changed so often. We have to fight the terrorists "there" so they don't come "here" but the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 weren't "there" (in Iraq) before we invaded. This "War on Terror" has become a catch phrase meant to instill fear in all of us. Now the Taliban in Afghanistan has regrouped and are back up to pre-9/11 levels, and why is that? Things are going to "great" in Iraq now, only 39 of our troops were killed in October; I doubt that statistic makes the families of those 39 feel much better! I know sometimes war is the only answer but I firmly believe in diplomacy first, we must try to talk to people and try to find common ground. I've never been able to figure out why we have the right to tell other nations whether they can or cannot have a nuclear weapon. I know it's not a good thing for Iran to have one, I just don't know whatgives us the right to order them not to especialy when were threatening them all the time. Annie
