What's your opinion on rush weddings or eloping? By rush, I mean you've known each other for a few months and have decided you're ready to tie the knot. The date was originally set for the next year or two, but you decided to push it up to the next month or two instead. It's probably not the wisest course of action, but are there exceptions to the rule?

My husband and I knew each other about a year and a half when we got married but we didn't start dating until 1 1/2 months before we got married. In the time before that we were just acquaintances that had talked some as my brother knew him and worked with him some. I think that it is funny as he was not the type of person that I would have dated and then he changed and we got together and got married. We have been married almost 13 years and we are happy.

That's how my parents did it, lol. Within nine months of their going out, they were married. They had seen each other around in classes and on base, but never gave it a try until then. They were also married about 12 years. I haven't seen a quick wedding fail yet, but I haven't exactly been looking for it either. Case by case, I suppose.
Blessed Be

There are always exceptions. My husband and I knew each other for about 8 months before we got married. We have been married for 3 yrs now of course with ups and downs, but none any different from those who knew each other for years before marrying. It is hard to say because a long time ago that is how people did it .. they met then married soon after and they always stayed married forever, unfortunately now a days people give up to easy and dont work at being married hard enough. On the other hand, now a days people dont settle either. It is marriage by marriage I guess.
