Specific earnings and Best response

Does anyone have the specific earnings as far as what you do earns you this much? I hear so much about it, but can't find any specifics. Do you earn based on discussions you start, respond to, comment on? If you choose Best Response - does that close that line of discusion? Do you have to choose? I rate often, but just wnet back and choose some best responses and now it seems that discussion is not getting any more comments - I still want to talk about it! Thanks for any comments.

The first response was accurate. I just wanted to support that answer.
I haven't chosen BR in a long time. I really do need to go through and do it though. It may or may not count for much but I think it's a nice boost in confidence for the other members.
The other side to NOT getting anymore responses after marking BR is that sometimes you will start getting more if your discussion has fizzled out. That's because any activity on your discussion, like you marking BR, will bring it back up to the top on your friends' lists.
