What is the best horror movie?

Long time I didn't watch any movies, because I was very busy (school, work, daily routine...) Now I want watch something interesting and keeping in suspense ;-) So tell me what is your favourite horror movie?? Which one is worth watching? Waiting for your opinions.

Recent movies? Or just all sorts of Horror?
Some Good Old Movies are the Nightmare on Elm Street Series and the Scream Trilogy.
Recently there was
Disturbia, Mr. Brooks, 28 Weeks Later (which is sequeled to 28 Days later.. both good).
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Although Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street are def. scary...Michael Myers (Halloween) will always be my favorite slasher killer! :)
I like The Scream triologies too (all of them, surprisingly). Usually that doesn't happen with movies! lol.
I didn't really like Mr. Brooks. I thought the preview made it look a lot better than it actually was. Disturbia was pretty good, I'd recommend that one too. I haven't seen 28 Weeks (or Days) Later-zombies scare me too much! lol.

Hostel, The Scream Movies, The Final Destination Movies, Nightmare on Elm Street (I like 1 thru 3 and New Nightmare), Friday the 13th (the original), The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Shining, Amityville Horror, The Omen...
Event Horizon is pretty intense but it's more sci-fi thriller with a dash of horror.

"The Thing" was a great movie, and definitely my favorite horror/suspense film. It's very unpredictable because you never know who the thing is, or could be.
I also enjoyed "The Event Horizon," but fewer people share that opinion with me.
And like Rumblefish said, "The Descent" is definitely worth picking up.

I really liked The Thing and The Descent too. Oh my gosh! When I went to The Descent in theaters...EK! Those are so SCAYR creatures, what a freaky movie. And it makes you claustrophobic too, which adds to the suspense/fear.
I only saw some of Event Horizon, and it was on tv. So I can't really be a credible source for judging that movie! :)
