What is the best gift one can give to their parents this Christmas holiday? One that is unique and can be considered memorable by your parents. Of course parents have different tastes and moods, are they the homey type who just stays at home to celebrate Christmas? Or are they the outgoing type who spends Christmas vacationing away from their house and neighborhood to find a more relaxed and new place? What are the ideals gifts to give to such type of parents?

My parents stay home for Christmas and we visit for Chistmas Dinner on Christmas Day each year. I don't know what I will get them for Christmas. I have had a World's Greatest Dad mug for months, waiting to find the matching World's Greatest Mom mug, but I have been unable to find the match or even a mug with those words on it in the store where I got the first one. What to get my parents for Christmas is always hard because they have pretty much everything they need plus thier anniversary is in November and my mom's birthday is in December. So I need to get 3 totally different gifts in the next month and a half.

I'd buy my mother a plane ticket here. That way we'd be able to spend a holiday together. But she is stubborn and wouldn't except that. I'd love to be able to move her here. But family issues now make that not possible....I will save up and take a trip to her time with us is what she'd like. To be able to make new memories with loved ones would be the best gift I think.

You know we have the same situation, my mother doesn't like to travel much whether by air or by land. I always get disappointed whenever I ask her to go this place or that and to spend some special occasions or holidays together because she is really a kill joy and would prefer staying at home and do the usual way we do things.

Last year my sister and I went together and bought mom a Pizzell maker. It is an electric cookie press. She was always borrowing mine, so we decided to give her something that she would use. She uses it all of the time. I've never known a different type of mom so I cannot help much on the other type or maybe suggest a trip.

Well, my parents are the type that stay home for Christmas. All of our family is around the area that my parents live, all within an hour of their house. On top of that, my husband and I usually go visit them for the holidays, so they like to be home for that. Plus, travelling would be hard for them due to the fact that my mom has a lot of medical issues and since she can't work, she just receives disability, they usually only have the money to take one vacation per year, which they like to do during the summer months for fishing and such when it's warm. Cold weather is hard on my mother. My parents are kindof hard to shop for at Christmas. My dad is a hunter/fisherman/golfer, but he has pretty much everything he needs or wants in supply of those hobbies. My mom mainly loves to scrapbook, but she has tons and tons of stuff to serve her purpose for that. It always takes quite a bit of planning to figure out a gift. I usually try to find something comical or something decorative for the house that I know they've been wanting to get as a gift for them. However, this year, my husband and I are quite low on funds for Christmas shopping, and will not even be able to get many of the things we want to for our son, so we will probably have to stick with something along the lines of a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant for their gift, something combined. May seem kindof lame, but I know they will still like and appreciate it, since they are tight on money just like we are. For parents that usually go away for Christmas, I would think some type of gift that would make their trip easier or more enjoyable would be nice, or maybe just give them the money you were planning on spending in a personalized card for them to put toward doing something more during their trip.

Yeah that is really something different, since everyoen has a different mood and taste. We give our paretns last Christmas new televison and i think it was really good gift. Also we give my dad for his birthday stay for two days in spa for two persons. I think it was good gift and my parents enjoy it, since they don't go anywhere that much. But Christmas are coming soon again and I have really hard time to think what to buy them this year.

Normally, I give cash to my parents and I let them decide where or what they will do to it. They usually buy it with the things they want o rused it in going to places. But if they asks for other things, that is the only time I bought it for them.

Since it was my mothers 60th birthday this year, my siblings and I decided to pay for my mom and dads trip to Australia to spend 10 days with my younger brother and family. They will be going around Christmas time.
