What item (s) does your friends or relatives often gives you? What items do you usually receive as a gift?
I always receive watches as a gift for me. Maybe because I seldom wear one so people think I don't have one. I usually wear just bracelet. I have just received another watch last week from my mother's friend =)

Hi Brew,
Your discussion made me think how funny we are that we assume people that dont have, say a watch on their arm, dont have one. I mean, why dont they ever think that the person doesnt want to wear one? Instead they buy you one, thinking they are doing you a favor. Of course the gift is supposed to be in itself the thoughtfulness of the action. Now there's pressure on the reciever to like it and use it. If you dont, you continue to get the same gift over and over. lol

Just last month, I've stayed with my aunt in Singapore and I've tried to apply for a job. Their apartment security gave me a watch because he noticed that I don't have one and thought it will be really useful so that I won't be late for job interviews. It was really thoughtful. I wear that everytime I went out if he is the one on duty because it makes him happy and I just remove the watch if I'm pretty far from our place (if it doesn't match the clothes that I'm wearing). =)

Hi Brew,
That is really thoughtful of you! I think many people would just put it away and make excuses for why they arent wearing it. I agree with you. Im sure it does make him feel good that you wear it. Good thinking!

They mostly give me t-shirts or any upper garments, I guess that's what most of them can afford at. So the only thing I have to worry about is, buying a short or pants in which is obviously more expensive than shirts!;)
Though I am not into expecting gifts from them, I wish that one day there'd be one that can give me a pair of new shoes (can be a basketball shoes or a good pair of casual ones).=P

I think it is pretty smart to give t-shirts as a gift because as you've said pants is pretty expensive and it is also difficult to tell the correct size of pants for a person just by looking =)
So, a new pair of shoes is at the top of your Christmas wish list =) I really want a Playstation Portable but it is really expensive, I don't think anybody would give me one. I might as well save some money for that ... LOL ... =)

That's great for you getting expensive gifts especially in the Phils. I usually get T-shirts or shorts , mostly hankies and toiletries. Hope to have some expensive items.
