My mom has diabetes. I don't know how hard this disease will affect her so I would like to know more about diabetes as much as possible. She started getting her insulin shots last Saturday and she's already in her 60's. In order for me to understand her ordeal, I need to know more about the disease. The best way I can think of is to join a club in our community but I don't know how to contact them. I searched the net and found a nationwide program on diabetes and I called the organization who facilitates the said program. However, according to them, they have no directory of diabetics club in our country. They told me that I can try to coordinate with a local hospital to find out. As far as I know, they should know how to contact these clubs since these clubs can help their organization in spreading the ill effects of diabetes. There should be a support group to at least help individuals and families afflicted with this disease. Is it really this hard to join a club? Can you suggest other ways to know more about diabetes?

I really do not know of a club. My family is diabetic (esp. my mother side). But I guess you can learn from experience of other families who have diabetic bloodline. It still is best to do research online. :P

I know that there exists a diabetic club here in our country. I can do online research on this but I feel that most of it are hearsay until I can find someone who can validate the information.

Hi, Irajohann, I am a 27 year old diabetic. I have had diabetes since I was 3 years old. One of the best online organizations that I have found is diabetessisters.com which is only for women with diabetes. They can help you learn all about this disease. No matter what anyone says, there has yet to be a cure found for type 1 diabetes. Hope this helps you out some.

Hi Irajohann. Sorry to hear tht your mom is suffering from diabetes. Let me explain a little about Diabetes. People who are diabetic do not die of the disease but will die of the COMPLICATIONS of the disease. Diabetes will eventually lead to gangren, high blood pressure, kidney failure, blindness, liver problems, skin problems, etc.. In short, all organs are affected. Medications only suppress the blood sugar and have side effects. You can learn more of diabetes in www.mayoclinic.com.
I have good news for you! There is a plant which is proven to treat diabetes. I dare mention 'proven' cause I have treated many who have been suffering for 3yrs - 30 yrs. All have wonderful results and NO side effects. I have also treated diabetics whose toes have been amputated. Recovered within a week. I recommend to my doctor to use on his diabetic patients and he is very amazed with the results!
This plant which I am using is the red mushroom - DXN Ganoderma Lucidum. I am a gano-consultant and my mission is to educate people on degenerating diseases and how gano can help bring them back to healthier quality life. Every human should be given a chance to recover.
If you need more info, you can email me at www.jurinaleeab@yahoo.com. May God bless you.
