I have never really sat down and counted my daughters gifts. In the last five or six years my daughter has gotten more than a dozen small gifts in stockings hung through out the house. I try not to spend more than $500.00 on her. When my mom was raising me and my cousin she made sure we both had the same number of gifts. Since I only have the one I usually budget a certain amount of money and what ever I can afford I get. She loves books and movies. I think last years she got something like fifteen to twenty five items depending on how you want to count them. I also take her to the store and let her pick out $100.00 in clothes for Christmas as well. Some times she does well and gets a lot of clothes but last year she only got three items because she wanted a brand name pair of jeans. When she was little Santa always gave her more gifts. I love getting gifts and so does my family.

When my daughter was ten she told me that she knew I was santa all along. I could not believe it since she got so excited to leave out cookie and milk. She told me that she just pretended to believe because it made me so happy. I could not believe that my little girl was worried about me being happy. Kids are great.

My kids are now adults. I tell them not to overdo the gift giving. Give some great gifts that they will use every day and a few that they will use occasionally. Of course, don't forget the essentials like clothes. Kids don't like getting clothes, but if they are something that is really not what they would normally get, they will love it.

Me and my husband are the Santas at home. My children still believe in him, you know. Even my eldest who is now 11yo. She still has no idea that we're the one bringing gifts when it was so obvious because of the gift wrappers sold or being used in malls. LOL. They each have 1 present from us, plus from godparents when they can remember to give. When we go to my parents home, Santa happens to pass by too at christmas eve. And they're soooo excited and happy.

We do. In our house there is always only one present under the tree. The rest come from us or other family family members. Now if we go to the grandparents or great grandparents santa may have stopped there too. So in the end she may have a few presents from the Jolly Ole elf. But hey! Only a kid once!
