OMG I spilt red nail polish on the carpet. I need to get it out before my parents find out. I tried the nail polish remover but it kind of spread/smudged it out. Oh please someone tell me you have some remedy for this. I'll have to move out of my house and blam my brother if I can't fix it.

No will not own up to it until it is too late. I already have a plan. I am going to sneak into my brothers room while he is sleeping and put nail polish on his fingers or toes. What ever is exposed while he sleeps. Then point the finger when my parents ask. It works on tv.

try get hold of some acetone (u can get it from the chemist) it's the stuff that's in nail polish remover but it's stronger and more cocentrated... then wash it with some carpet shampoo afterwards... good luck!!!

Where am I suposed to find a chemist? I'd rather empty my remover all over the floor.....what if it burns a hole in the carpet??? I can't breath...panick panick

Oh crap. Well I really hope one of the other suggestions worked for you, because all I can offer you for advice is to trim the bits of carpets that the nail polish is on off. Unless you have really high quality carpeting it is most likely acrylic or some similar material which is basically plastic. Therefore, anything that would disolve nail polish would also begin to disolve the fibers of the carpets and heat would cause it to melt. Anytime i have gotten nail polish on the carpet I have just wiped up what i could with a dry paper towel and then trimmed the carpet once it dried.

Put grease resistant paper on the stain, get a hot iron, iron the paper, and every minute or two take the paper up and wipe the stain. Keep repeating this until the stain is all gone!!!!!! The iron will melt the nail polish making it easier to wipe up....

Ok BREATHE! lol Get as much off as you can with the nail polish remover and then try some window cleaner. It should remove the whole stain! Come back and update when you can! If all else fails, you can fall back on your plans to blame your brother :)
