Are we giving our children too much

I recently told my young daughter she had been invited to a party, instead of the excitement I anticipted I got a sigh of not another one. I thought about my own childhood and the excitement I felt when invited to a rare party or eating out or getting presents, now kids take this in their stride. Is that why we have so many dissatisfied youth too much taken for granted nothing much to look forward to
