Home exercise

I can't afford a gym membership. I can't afford equipment for home use. I live in the city, walking is "at your own risk", so what are good home exercise things that really work? I know all the usual exercise routines, but I want something more specific - I know about using canned goods as weights and a towel as a pull thingy for stretching, but any other suggestions?

try dancing! or aerobics. but I strongly recommend dancing. ^__^ there are types of dances that you can do solo. and its much more fun to work out that way because you exercise every part of your body, you lose a lot of sweat and you're having fun! ^__^ or you can try belly dancing. its also a good way to work out. there are many dvd tapes available on how to belly dance. my officemate have one and some of my officemates have joined her with it. ^__^

Well, thanks, but lord have mercy I don't have a musical/beat/rythmic bone or even nerve in my body! Some say they can't carry a tune in a bucket..I can't move a beat with a bulldozer! My GD's can tho - those two little ones..all they have to do is hear the first 3 notes and they are "chuckin' and jivin" as they used to say back in the 70's!

oh that's too bad! its really fun to lose weight while dancing. maybe you can ask your granddaughters to teach you how to get into the rhythm.

hi coffee, what you can do is first get a consultation done from any weight loosing centers or gyms. they mte guide you for free and may provide you the information that what part of the body you need to concentrate if you wanna loose weight only if you healthy...one more thing cna be done is go for a gym say for 5 days tell them you want it on trail basis and then you shall take membership after 5 days , during these days they may guide you and teach you the exercises and the process flow as in what should come first and liek wise after 5 days of your trail donot go back and continue with the same set of exercises. apart from this if you wish to loose your stomach then do abs, crunches,sit ups. if you wanna loose your weight on legs and thighs do leg raises, cycling,.... you can either hunt for exercises on the net there you will get a brief video as well as explanations. all the best.

hi there coffeebreak i want to join a gym and boy is it expensive so i will just do sit ups instead and see how i go thanks for this discussion
