Thanksgiving dessert

This year my boyfriend and I are thinking of taking care of dessert for my father's Thanksgiving meal. Though I know that I am going to end up doing most of the cooking for the meal, I was thinking about making something for dessert in advance so that I won't have to worry about it on Thanksgiving Day. I would like to make something special and not your usual traditional thing. In other words, I'm looking for some help coming up with ideas that are a little different. I don't want to make something obvious like the pumpkin pie. Can anyone share some recipes or ideas that are on the more non-traditional but will go well with a Thanksgiving dinner? Thanks for your help!

I found a few sights that might help you out. The First One has desserts you can make up to two weeks in advance. Hope one of these has something youll like! http://www.crisco.com/recipes/from_scratch/thanksgiving_desserts.asp http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Holidays-and-Events/Thanksgiving/Pies-and-Desserts/Main.aspx http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/specialfeature/thanksgiving_meal_ms/
