I had to go out to my car for something last night when a lady was passing by walking her dog. It was quite chilly out so I just sprinted from the back steps to the car but kept an eye on her and the dog. She stops and lets him do his business on my yard, then just continued walking like they didn't do a thing. I was kinda upset because in our town you can get a hefty fine for not picking it up! Would you have yelled at her...or gotten a bag and had her pick it up or doesn't it bother a situation like this bother you?

I think it's very rude to let you doggie do his business on your lawn. I would have asked her if she had a bag for "his business" and if she didn't...you would give her a plastic bag to take it with her. Yes, I have no pets and don't appreciate stepping on dog dodo and taking it into my house or car.

I thought it was your front yard. being the back yard takes this woman a step further by trespassing on your property as well. YIKES! I would have said something nasty to her for sure if it happened in my back yard. The front yard I could maybe let it slide to a degree. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!`

I think I was staring while seething that the cr*p was laying in my back yard. I no longer have a pet.....and that is part of the reason. Yuk!

if i were in your shoes i would have kept silent because i am that kind of person. ^__^;; i would have been too timid to get her attention and tell her she left her dog's poop. but if i were in a really bad mood when that happened, i would surely have yelled at the lady and tell her "hey! you left your dog sh!t!". LOL just kidding. i'll still be respectful and say "hey miss! you forgot to clean up your dog's mess. ^__^

I would have stopped the lady and told her she needed to clean up after her dog. Yes, a situation like the one you describe would have really upset me. I'm at a point that I just don't care what people think any more, I can't sit back and watch something like that happen. That's a great fine that your city has for this kind of incident!

Yes I should have....but it's uncomfortable to confront someone on an issue like that but it won't happen again. I'll have a bag out to her in a jiffy!

I am really bad with confrontation myself, so I completely understand. I'm just tired of fuming all the time and wishing I had said something, though, so I am trying to make myself speak up. Maybe you could say something like, "I'll run inside and grab a bag for you. I always hate it when I forget mine". I don't know if being indirect would make you more comfortable, but I have found that it does help me.
