I read "Natural Genius" by Susan Rubinyi. It's a true story about a boy with Asperger's syndrome, which is a mild form of autism. My son was recently diagnosed with this & I found the book very interesting & insightful.
I'm also reading "It takes a Village" by Hillary Rodham Clinton. I think she has a wonderful outlook on how we should be raising our children.
What books have you read recently? Which ones would you recommend or not recommend?

I have read MEDIA VIRUS By Douglas Rushkoff.
He is also the Author of:
-The GenX Reader
-Cyberia: Life in the Trenches of Hyperspace
-Free Rides
*All published by Ballantine Books*
It is a lively, provocative book. It's impossible to read this book and not feel compelled to reassess technology's impact on today's popular culture. The book has been revised and updated! The author was an inspired undergraduate bullsession, a hyper, interdisciplinary thought rush! The book examine the intricate ways in which opular media both manipulare and are manipluated by those who know ow to tap into their power. Douglas Rushkof shows that where there's a wavelength, there's a way to "infect: those on it- from the subtly, but intentionally, subverse signals broadcast by shows like "The Simpsons", to the O.J. media frency surrounding the Nicole Brown Simpson murder case, chase, and trial. What does it all mean? Unless you've been living in a case that isnt;' cable- ready, you're alreadie infected with the media virus. But don't worry, it won't make you sick, It will make you think...
INCLUDING A NEW PREFACE AND AFTERWORD BY THE AUTHOR CHRONICLING THE LATEST AND MOST OUTRAGEOUS OUTBREAKS OF VIRUS STRAINS.
The book is a Ballantine/ 39774 and is $12. 95 in USA and $19.95 in Canada. You can see more on the book at www.randomhouse.com/BB

I have read a few books by Iris Joahnsen lately. Her books are more less mystery books but they are really good books. I am reading "The Search" by her right now. It seems really good so far.

a book which i read recently was "kafka on the shore" by haruki murakami.. it was a mind-bending, intense book..i would not recommend it for the faint of heart since it has a lot of gruesome and sensual scenes, but if you can get past those, then the book has a lot in store for you.. it's filled with a lot of philosophical, existential prose and it makes you think about your life, our lives, fate, and how we are all connected.. it should be read slowly and deliberately, because you shouldn't miss a single detail :)
