How do you choose a car color?

I have been looking at cars lately, and I have realized that my car color preferences have changed significantly since I was 16. I am only 24 now, but it still amazes me. I used to be very attracted to bright colors, like blues, reds, and yellows, and now that has really been altered. When I look at cars now I really see myself in a gunmetal grey, silver, deep blue, dark green, or maroon. I don't even know why I liked the brighter colors before! And now that I'm older, I'm much more concerned with having a color that might not show dirt as easily as others. I live in a state where snow and rain come often and I don't want to have to wash my car every time there's a little bit of precipitation, so I have to plan ahead with my color choices.
How do you choose what color you want? Do you have preferences or are there other outside factors that you rely on? Have your color choices matured as you've gotten older?

That is exactly why I go for them. A woman I know is also partial to tans and greens because she says that the dust doesn't show up as well on them. She lives on a gravel road so I suppose she knows what she's talking about!

I remember that being mentioned in a movie. Then another character says "but you didn't pick it." I love that movie :-)

I always like silver and black. You are less likely to get pulled over in silver or white cause you are not as noticable. Police pull over bright colors more often.

I don't really mind what colour our car is. My son chose our car colour this year - his favorite is red and so we went with red. Daddy got to choose the type of car and my son got to choose the color. As for me, as long as it had lots of space inside for the three of us, within our budget, gets us to A-B and then back to Z, and its comfortable and has a good heater LOL ( i hate the cold) then I was happy with that :)

I don't really have a preference, but my thing is that I never want to have the same color twice. I've been through red, white, burgundy, light blue, dark blue, light green and dark green...I think my next car will have to be black. No, have to save that for when I get a BMW. :)

The last three cars I had before this were red and sporty. I now own a green suv....and I love it. My insurance also went down alot as I switched colors...makes..and this one has a better crash test rating. I didn't have much of a choice as this was the only one on the lot....so the color was either this light.green or nothing and I loved the car. But I have found that even when it's dusty it doesn't show that much on the car. I love it. It's a little Ford Escape.

I love black color on cars.In my eyes it's classy and elegant. But recently while looking to buy a new car I happen to talk with some of black car owners they were of the openion that it's high maintanance, shows dirt easily. That's how my dream of owning a black color car ended.I am happy that I didn't make the mistake of buying it otherwise I would have to spend a lot of time in the carwash.

Well I own a Black Honda City. I am 20, so, this car and colour perfectly suits me. Choice of colour while buying a car depends on the perpose of buying a car. If you want to buy for daily use like for going office, then small car with colours like silver and grey is perfect because these are very decent colurs.
If you want a family car, then colours like black and white suits perfectly as they give very royal look.....
But if you are planning to buy a car for sporty and cool look, then colours like blue, red yellow are realy cool!
