Inflation rate is under the control, As the cost of living goes up, slaried persons get additional dearness allowances. Businessmen increase their turnovr and increase the prices. Here inBangalore, India, there is a great influx of population resulting in increase in cost of living. Prices of land skyrocketing and there is increase in wages to all and sundry workers. I am from Bangalore, India and compared to western and european coutnries, the cost of living is very cheap.

There is a lot of income disparities among the different trades. A school teacher gets 1/10 of a salary what a Computer professional gets. A mason get 1/2 or 1/4 of a school teacher. The slaries drawn by computer professionals in India are in par with western countries and imagine what you in US spend on house rent, Indian spends 1/4th, on food 1/5th or 1/8. One can have a services of a full time servant woman at home for $50 per month with lunch at home. An hair cust can be had for less than 25 cents in villages and 50 cents in cities and luxirous haircut in a a/c saloon will cost less than $5 to $8.
Cup of coffee is less than 15 cents whcih includes coffee, sugar and milk. A loaf of bread is 50 cents, a bottle of jam of 500 gms is less than $1.50.
A family of 3 can have 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, high tea and dinner for $100 per month and if they spend $200 they will have luxury lunch, luxury breakfast. These figures based on my experience.

Hi Julia
u have touched very sestive topic, here in Pakistan, the inflation rate is drastically high, specially in last 3-4 yrs the prices of basic necessities got double, like food, fruits, milk, cost of construction, gasoline, intrest rates. and not to talk about cost of education and health related facilities
and its like a nighmare, its like ginnie out of bottle and hard to control
sure cost of living is increasing drastically and unfoortunately resources, salaries are not increasing with that pace so as a result buying/purchasing power of common citizen is going down
its not only stressing but SCARY
Take care

I live in the U.S. They say there's no inflation, but that is simply not true. I'm very stressed out about it because my wages aren't going up, but the cost of everything else seems to be!

Hi julianarw! Here in my country, everything goes up too. And it is really sad because while prices of commodities are going up, the wages or salaries remain the same or if it manages to increase, it will be a very small rate that one can not even equate it to the high prices. That is why i do sometimes get stressed but most of the times, I just shrug it off because I don't want to get wrinkles from worrying too much. haha.. Take care and have a nice day.

Well, i live in Uganda juliana, it is just the same, our electricity bill went up last month and they are threatening to even increase it the more in due couse-we hosted CHOGM in Kampala last months and business men hiked prices hoping to make a lot of money, now they have refused to bring down the prices. It is a common trend and we hope we manage with it just like that.

cost of living also goes up in my country, but i still believe it is much cheaper than other countries. Salaries also increases with the increase in cost of living. But as I am single, stay with my parents and is in IT sector, I don't have to think much. Still it bothers me sometime that I think my income should have been a bit better to get a nice lifestyle.

everything is going up including the value of peso (our money currency). its kinda ironic actually. if the value of peso is going, the effect should be lower prices of basic commodities. but no, the prices of these basic needs are continuously going up. but i'm not losing faith. i mean, i know somewhere on something, the increase in the value of peso has a positive effect, its not just being felt now but in the future it will be. ^__^

Hi energy goes up all the time, gas, milk and of course the cost of living like food, school supplies are crazy now.I dont get stressed,i tend to find a way of going around it like usung less power, less "fun/joy"riding wasting gas.Our mortage is set at a rate that no matter how much it goes up ours will always stay the same and never change.

I am from Slovakia, living in usa right now. But I do talk with my mum very often and she is telling me how evertyhing went up, specialy the food. Also the gass and apartmans. My brother just buy a flat like two months ago and he alredy can sell it about 10% more expensive. That is crazy , I think. And yeah she is worried how they will live and pay for the bills, since she doesn't work anymore and is retired.

hello julia. I live here in the Philippines, and yes, prices go up here. And because of that, the blood temperature of the people here goes up, too!^_^ Just this month, the transportation fare in our jeepneys went up again. Usually, when these happens, arguments between the driver and the passengers start. The passengers say it's unfair but the driver tells them it's the law.
The electricity charge here is a little high so the people just think of ways to conserve. Like in our house, we only use the airconditioner at night. And living in a tropical country can be sometimes tough. We have to make do with the electric fan and just endure the heat.
Fortunately, now it's near December, it's starting to get a little cooler.
A little tip I learned from a friend to save more on electricity bills. She told me to pull the plug off of the fridge when I need to use the washing machine. And it does work!My electricity bill this month was a thousand lower than the previous month.

The taxes getting worst all the time. It is a real sucker in our family budget.
Everything is high, even the smallest things you can ever imagine cost too much..You go out for shopping and bring the right amount when you get home you see how everything changed and how expensive they are now.

Well,I guess nowadays the price of almost everything is going up.As far as I know,it happens in many countries. In my country, the cost living is higher and higher now. The price of petrol is going up not long ago and I hear the price of oil will soon go up. Yup,we all get stress because of that. The point is that, though everything costs more, our salary doen't become more. What should we do? Will the government take some measures to control?
