This poor baby,can you beleive? she is joined with a parasitic twin wich stopped growing in the womb.she absorbed the limbs,and internal organs of the other fetus. 30 docotrs began to operate on her tuesday...can u beleive the circus tried to buy her?:(.how sad is that!!! she was born in bangalore india.
what is cool is,there was a hindu goddess wich they named her after,that had this same defect!

I pray that the child lives well. But as far as her people not wanting her to have the surgery, well that is a part of their religious beliefs. Who are we to say they were wrong to want such a thing, we have no place.

The people thought she was a gift from God and did not want her
to have the operation, they wanted her to live like that...now
that is sad! I hope that she does well after all she is going through.
And I thank God that we have reached a time where men/women have the
knowledge to perform this operation. May she live a long and happy life.

I figured that she was meant to be a twin and her twin was absorbed into her. I do hope that she is all right. I guess that that she was named after a Hindu goddess or idol, because she had four arms and four legs. I suppose it is a result that perhaps thousands of years ago, another little girl was born with the same condition, and that the people elevated her to the stature of goddess. It shows how ignorant people were in those days and I suppose in a thousand years later, if this little girl had been sold to the circus, people would be worshiping her as a goddess. It is so sad.

This upsets me that you call these people stupid for what they beleive...had the girl not had the surgery.and was worshiped as a goddess,to be a goddess is to be beautiful,most godly like
How would that be bad for her?
just because they beleive in hinduism doesnt make them ignorant..
that is like saying we are ignorant because we believe in god and thoes who follwed the old testiment are ignorant...
beleive what you beleive in and let others beleive in what they beleive in..please no judging in any of my posts:)

It is stupid, because we know that there is a loving God out there, but these people have been allowed to remain in their blindness. This poor little girl would have been sold to a circus, if her parents had not considered that she would have been a curiosity, but the majority of people who think that she could be elevated to the status of goddess are ignorant in that they do not consider the suffering of this poor little child of not being able to go out with her friends. Would you have rather that she remain as she was born with so that you can make those who believe in many gods feel good about themselves? Maybe that little girl can talk and tell how she felt, they will stop and remember another little girl a thousand or more years ago that they did not listen to.

She is successfully operated and separated from her parasitic twin by 32 doctors. All goes well that ends well.

I've heard of this before it's usually the result of twins that didn't seperate. Hopefully she can have surgery to fix as much as possile. Isn't that terrible that a circus would want to use her to make money.
