Just last week, a 12 year old girl hanged herself, and the very reason was because of the poverty she and her family are into. It's just sad that a kid like her was able to feel depression out of poverty. It's just sad, that the only escaped she had in mind was to kill or end the things that are making her feel less of a person. When I was 12 years old, my mother quit her job, thus, making us all dependent on our father's earnings. We were four and all were studying. There was this batch field trip, where we were all asked to attend. I gave the waiver to my mother, after reading the waiver, she approached me. She asked me if it was ok for me not to attend. I understood my situation back then. I knew that I have been one bratty daughter, but, since I knew of our situation, I said it was ok. Then there was something with what my mother said which left a mark in my heart... she said that, when I reach highschool, i would be able to visit places, other than the place where my elementary batchmates would be going. True enough, when I was in HS, i have gone to several places for field trips. Then, i realized, that poverty, depression, deprivation, in a way can be temporal of sort. These things will not hold for so long as long as you believe that more pleasant things will come your way. Now, back to my topic. Have u experienced poverty? Let me illustrate how poverty can be, like when eating among your group of friends where you have potluck as a theme, the food that you have brought is popularly known "food for the poor". In my case, I used to have fish and not some fancy pork/hotdog/beef as my viand during lunch time. Fish or Galunggong was popular during the late 80s in my country. It used to be the President's basis of "poorness". A friend from abroad, who said that in his country, poor people tend to be lazy like they would rather ask for alms on the street instead of working, because the state provides for them. So how do you illustrate poverty in your country? Have u known of individuals who experience poverty? What have you observed are their behavior or attitude towards poverty? How many instances are there when an individual do commit suicide because of poverty in your country? Just share.

Yes, my entire adult life has been one in poverty & I hate it! Many times I've wanted to end it all, but I have a family & I must take care of them.

I really wish you wont resort to ending things at all. I am just so sad when people think that they will not make things through with poverty because I know of people who were able to get out of the situation. Sigh.
