What does your room look like?

If I was to visit your house and would like to see your room, would you show it to me? Some people consider their room as their turf, they prefer to keep their rooms by just themselves as some treats it as their domain or private territory. They don't want other people to see whatever "secret" they have in their rooms, as outsiders are not allowed!;) As they say, our room is a reflection of who we are. If it's clean, then one can simply say that the owner is an ORGANIZED person. And if it's messy, it just shows how IRRESPONSIBLE that person was. So, what do you think you're room looks like!;)

My room, it looks ok when I am in the mood to be organized. I mean, in general, when I am in my obsessive-compulsive mode, you would find it quite organize. But when, i am quite busy, and find no time in arranging my stuff, hahaha, you can find books, pens, papers, receipts on top of my bed, and mind you I can still sleep regardless of their presence. :) Haha. that makes me a confused being then.

There's a reason why you're room is messy, but you can always clean it if ever you have free time!;)

Oh Raijin.. My room? Its plain and simple, with the things i needed, dresser, laptop, tv etc.. Just like an ordinary room, With the lamps i designed and all the paintings i have are all over my place.. You are indeed welcome, infact i will cook for you..^_^ Besides i live alone in my apartment,^_^ Yes, Rooms are private and personal, it is your most preferred shelter of all.. Solemn and Secrets are kept. The things and all the property you had reflects what kind of person or what is your over all character... thats why there are some people who cant let visitors get inside their domain for its their territory .. Take care Raijin^_^

I must be irresponsible. I'm awfully messy. Not like "dirty" but "cluttery", if you get the difference! I invite people in anyway. Most of the time people aren't really going to see my bedroom, but the rest of my apartment. And if someone were visiting for the first time and getting a tour, I'd let them see my whole apartment. *shrugs* I don't really mind about things like that. I don't have secrets. The only things that I would really mind people seeing are all carefully stored away where no one would see them, typically. I once had a mistake where a friend of mine who was helping me move saw something embarrassing, so I'm very careful to keep certain types of things put away now. :P

Haha! I hope it didn't haunt you, I think that'll bother me for almost a day if ever that occured to me!;) Cluttery, yes, I understand what you mean. My parent's room are like that, since my mom always puts everything they think are still useful in their room. I'm still impressed with the way you handle things, I believe that you are indeed a good person and a gem in your circle of friends. Like you, I also welcome people inside my room, since I know I don't have anything to hide and am proud to let them see what it looks like!;)

"I believe that if you are close friends with someone, your home should feel like home to them as well." You got that right lecanis, I remember one time that my friends were the one's who always wake me up everytime I don't have work. They always go straight in my room and do everything what they want there, since they know already where they are not allowed to go and those "off-limits" portion of the room!;P

I was embarrassed at first, but now I laugh about it. I even joke about checking for things I don't want people to see before they come over. ;P I just live in apartments but own too much stuff. So it's hard to find places to put everything. I am too sentimental and have a hard time throwing things away. Everything has some sort of meaning attached to it: where I bought it or who gave it to me, what was going on in my life at that time, a place where I wore/used it, etc. I believe that if you are close friends with someone, your home should feel like home to them as well. =)

If I was to show you my room I wouldn't be embarrassed at all only because I cleaned it up two days ago. It just has our king size bed, a set of drawers, several floor lamps and a few books.

I used to sleep in a couch also, but was glad that I am sleeping on the comfort of my room!;) but there are times when I don't reach my room to sleep, since sometimes I get too much drunk and don't have enough strength to pull my leg and walk!;)LoL I have a niece here, she's 4 year old. I always tell her to play inside their room, since I know kids are messy when playing at times!;)

I wouldn't want to show anyone my room, even my family. My room is very messy. Everything gets put in there that doesn't have another place to go. Plus I still have many boxes of knick-knacks that I have unpacked yet. Yesterday I started working on cleaning it out. I found my christmas decorations which is a good thing. I have to learn to throw things away more and not keep them so they pile up.

My room looks pretty clean everytime.. Everything is in order in my room.. Though I still feel that I have clustered a lot of things into a single room of mine like tv, my music deck and my computer.. Its looks as if it is a complete electronic store.. But it quite suits my personality...

Yes i do believe that our own room is our private territory. I also believe that our room also reflect our own personality. I agree with you that when a room is messy, the owner of the room is also not organized. Or if the room is always clean and organized, it means that its owner is also clean and organized. =) As for me, when i have friends who visits my house.. i allow them to see my room and my friends can even stay there.

That is so nice of you, so you prefer to welcome people instead of kicking them out of your private domain!;) I also do that, but they have to observe cleanliness if ever they want to stay!;)

People feel rooms to be a secret and that no outsider is allowed especially when it dirty (not all people but nearly 75 % of them) I would surely allow to see my room and their would be no secrets IFFFF my room is neat...I keep it neat most of the time but at times its messy. When its messy i avoid taking people inside because i feel they may have a bad impression.

Well, i haven't had a bedroom for about 9 years now. when I did have one i kept it pretty neat. I have an airmattress that i sleep on in the living room or i sleep on the couch. someday when my girls all move out of the house for good, i'll probably have one again and i'm sure i'll have fun fixing it up.

I also sleep on the living room back then, since my brother has married and they haven't got any place to stay yet so I let them stay in my room! I love sleeping on the couch, though I don't fit in it!;) But now am lucky that I already have my own room again, I always keep it neat and clean every week since there's a construction occuring near to our place and dust are always flying. I'm sure you'll enjoy when that time comes, thanks for sharing!;)

hello raijin. As much as possible, I try to maintain things inside our bedroom, organized. Every stuff should be in their right places. But, if you were to go inside that room, while my husband and son are inside, don't expect it to look organized lol! I've given up ages ago trying to clear their mess while those two are in the room. I just clean up the room when both of them are in other part of the house, creating another mess.^_^ The bedroom is not that clean, clean. But I do sweep up the floor regularly. I don't do much dusting because I end up in a sneezing frenzy as soon as I start dusting the appliances. But I don't let the room look so messy. Even if I'm tired from doing other household chores, I still try to make sure that our bedroom should be a comfortable place for rest and sleep.

Hi there jc, good day to you. Men are always that kind but not me, I prefer to be different!;) I used to be allergic on dust also, so I always end up sneezing while cleaning. But luckily, I don't experience it anymore!;) My being allergic is the one that caused me to be clean as much as possible, just like right now where there is a constuction site near our home. Everyday, dust covers the place and so I have to make sure that I keep my room and the whole house dust-free whenever I can!;)

Hi,there! I would show my room to my friends. It's my turf but not a secret.I like my small cute room and would like to introduce it to my friends.Well,my room is small but full of the furnitures that I need. My medium bed,my closet for my clothes and decorations,my window closet for the books and so on.My room is simple but tidy as I like sorting the things in my room so that I can find everything at the first time:)

Room - Part of a room with picture hanging on the wall.
My room looks like a garbage place LOL! Things are disorderly because they are so many and I don't know anymore where to place them. Anyway I am living alone and nobody goes into my room as the living room is big enough for visitors and there are other rooms in the house.

Right now, my room is so full of books that if I don't clear them out soon, I'll have to sleep somewhere else. LOL Seriously, I sell books online (and off line. It's my business) and I've been using the computer in my room because I can lock the door and keep everybody at bay. When I get the sold ones out this week (hopefully), I'll be able to clean things up a bit. I don't think I'm disorganized, I'm just busy. But you could make a case for saying that ALL book people are basically disorganized since we don't ever mind the clutter as long as it's books.

Right now, my room is pretty decent, but it's not what I want. For one thing, there is an armoire in there that belongs to my daughters; I don't want it and fought to keep it out of my room beacuse I wanted to eventually get another tv(preferably one of them HD ones)and I wanted to decorate. but for now I don't have that so that is that.

my room is neat and clean because i like to have everything in place. I hate it when people sit on my bed though so I entertain in the living room. My room is the place where I rest, pray and meditate so yes it is private although i share it with my 9 yr old who makes it very difficult for me to keep it neat and tidy as I like. She says I am miserable because I quarrel whenever anything is out of place. Right now if you come into my house everything is in place.
