I live in South Africa, and am faced daily with highly questionable situations... I find myself wondering if this only happens in Africa. Ever visited Africa, or a permanent resident particularly of South Africa? Please share your experiences...

shellyk i fail to understand what your trying to put across as you are not specifically clear, as the for the situations i believe each and every one of us can be in any situation whether in europe in the states or in africa it doesnt really matter, and yes i have been to africa infact i was raised there and to be honest i did not see anything wrong with the continent or its people, i know africa has its own short commings but which continent doesnt? i live in europe now and the same things i saw in africa are the same i see in europe, if its beggars on the streets even europe has beggars on the streets if muggings or breakings, i have seen them too

Shellyk, what do you mean by "faced daily with highly questionable situations"? By the way, no one ever said that life was easy anywhere on earth. I think what people often fail to do is, learn to make the most out of that which is readily available to them.
Yes, I have visited Africa, and found both the continent and the people to be very friendly, very relaxed and very civilized in their relations to strangers: The people were very friendly and very courteous (without ever bothering to inquire about the origin of their visitors and paid no attention to the shade of their visitors). I did enjoy myself and greatly enjoyed the natural grown foods, and hope to visit again sometime in the future.
