The book describes practical activities that will help apply the Law of Attraction. The law of attraction states that the kind of thoughts we focus on determine what we experience, receive or manifest in our life. If we focus on kindness, we attract more kindness in our life, if happy events, more happy events,if we focus on angry thoughts, we attract more anger in our life either in ourselves or from others, if we focus on having money, money comes into our life, if we focus on not having money, we experience lack of mmoney, etc. I'm interested to hear from those who have been practicing the Law of Attraction for quite sometime and how they managed to focus their thoughts on the things they want and whether in their experience the law operates for good.

I have become aware of the correlation between my thoughts and the events in my life. Events ALWAYS mirror my thoughts. Every time. There has never been an event in my life that, with a little diligent searching, I wasn't able to discover within me a certain way of thinking that energetically matched the current situation. I became fascinated with this phenomenon.
The Law of Attraction says: "that which is like unto itself is drawn". Our real work here is to maintain ourselves in a place that matches the frequency of the things we want to allow in, by choosing our thoughts deliberately. Which feels to me like a true state of grace.
It can be very hard to move your focus from what you don't want and to put it instead on what you do want. You have to so intensely want to feel good that you are willing to ignore the apparent reality of the physical world that might sometimes be glaring in your face. The physical world is just like a dream in that it is a result or reflection of your emotionally held beliefs. That's all. Change the beliefs and you change your world.
You have to be able to still the voice that babbles like a trained monkey inside your head, in order to hear the Inner Voice, that is the voice of true guidance that no books could give.
It just takes practice. I've been practicing for years now and I still have to work hard at it. But I am convinced that it's the most important thing I will ever do in my life.

Thank you for your response. It's nice to hear from someone who experience the reality of the Law of Attraction. Its real challenge is letting what we truly want in life take greater and greater focus in our field of vision - consciousness, priority, focus - rather than what we do not want. Past experiences and habits of thoughts tend to dominate our lives and they kept springing up as we attempt to focus our thoughts on what we truly want. No sooner than we start focusing on what we truly want, thoughts and feelings rise arguing against it. You mentioned about stilling the voice inside your head. In the Christian Scriptures there's a phrase that matches what you wrote: "Be still, and know that I am God". I have experienced this many, many times in my life, that when I managed to be still, true guidance comes or, an unseen yet felt power changes the inner and eventually outer climate and circumstances of my life. Learning to live or flow with this stream, also described as living in the awareness and presence of God, is to experience a true state of grace.

Thank you for your response. The Book of Psalms is my prayer book. It is very human - expresses the full spectrum of emotions and experiences, but always resolves towards a grand faith in God and the triumph of good in one's life. It is also divinely inspired; always leads me to a deep appreciation and gratitude for the goodness of God and draws me to his awesome yet comforting presence in worship and adoration. In the perspective of the Law of Attraction, the Psalmist laments the presence of things he does not want in his life but moves on to focus on what he truly wants - the deepest longings of the human heart - and miracles of miracles, always attracts them in his life.

The principle within the book and DVD The Secret are not new ideas. Meta physicians have been teaching that principle for centuries within what used to be called the mystery schools. Not these ideas are more mainstream and that is good to see. If you like this material you may want to investigate the movie What the Bleep Do we Know Anyway. It goes into greater depth about the effect of 'thoughts on things' and combines both metaphysics and physics with the idea that the more we 'dwell in possibilities' the greater our chances for co-creating with Source to live our best lives!
I have studies these principles for years and it is true that anything the mind can conceive and believe it can actually achieve!

I don't mean to come off as being judgmental or anything but I've surmised by your icon that you are a Christian. That being the case, why do you subscribe to this baseless, pointless New Age mubo-jumbo? If you believe that your God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus, where does this need to apply the Law of Attraction fit into your life? We are all materialistic to one degree or another but please don't get caught in the trap that defines an abundant life as one that is full of stuff. The people who preach that message are full of...er....stuff themselves.

Hi
although i do think that we attract a lot of things that happen to us by our state of mind , our 'vibes'. or our thoughts..I think this only true to a certain extent. Because I believe in predetermined fate which is affected by our prayers and actions..some prayers are a answered other not so..sometimes you can do everything in your power and pray and still not get what you want..something arent meant to be ..FATE
I dont think that EVERYTHING in our lives is attracted by us..maybe some good/bad things are just tests or trials sent to our way by God. Do you truly believe we attract everything ..that we have so much power or control over our lives ?!
i also believe that wealth in abundance is a trial like crippling poverty, how many wealthy people do you know who are engrossed in greed, lust, vanity, cruelty...to name just a few sins.
this is my opinion I'd like yours
