I am closing my business due to not enough plants were sold this year. The fires caused so much damage with ruined equipment that I can't afford to replace all of it. I will miss selling pond plants, but its time to move on and stop feeling sorry for myself.
The problem is finding just the right new home business and not spending large amounts of money. Its challenging reading all the ideas and businesses that have been started by many people on Mylot.
I hope to start up in 2008 and earn enough to not lose money. I'm aware that can take time to make money, but I realize hard work is required to be successful. Wish me luck on starting over.

I wasn't aware that you had a fire at your business. I may have missed some of your discussions when I was away.
I am very sorry about this.
I gather you had a nursery. Was it insured?
I guess even if it was, you may not have received enough money to replace everything.
I can not offer you any suggestions for a home business, but I wish you luck in finding something you enjoy & that earns sufficiently.
Let us know.

Thanks for the reply and I am just thankful everyone is well that I know in California. My brother lost his home, so think that is why I'm having such a hard time. I know in time it will be easier.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that your hard work has suffered because of the fires. As someone else posted, we really don't think that much about how the people that were "lucky" still have a hard road ahead of them. You have a great attitude from what I can see and I think you will do well in whatever path you take.
If you're still looking for opportunities, feel free to check out the links on my profile. I would love to talk with you about our home business and see if it's a good fit for you.
I wish you the best during this recover process.

Such a sad story. I tend to think of just the immediate damage that fires do without thinking of what they do to people's lives. I wish you luck in finding exactly the right type of business and hope that this dark moment will soon be a thing of tha past and will lead to a much brighter future. Take care!
