For Those Of You Who Asked To See Them... Here They Are!!!

At last, I have the runes and I will treasure them, because they are sooooooo good. He even made out a list of names of the runes and their meanings, with little drawings of the symbols, put them in the pouch and when I took the pouch from the envelope, it had this wonderful smell, which I'm pretty sure is Patchouli (Shhhhh, don't anybody tell Gissi, or he will be rolling in it like a dog possessed!) ha ha ha
Seriously though, I think you'll agree with me, these are a lovely gift, and I was thrilled with them. I loaded the photo in here because it was easier for you all to see it. Sorry about the sawdust on the tablecloth... I had been sanding down my half a tree. lol.
Brightest Blessings to all.

They are wonderful, I remember years ago I had a set of them along with my crystals but I didn't really know the significance of them and what they are all about. I think you have been given an excellant gift.

Yes, I feel I have, Lilaclady and I shall treasure them. I told him that.
I like crystals too... I have a crystal dowsing pendulum, made from amethyst, which comes in very handy at times, too! :) I also bought a couple of wooden acorns which are meant as blind pulls, and my friend offered to decorate them and make them into pendulums, so I eagerly await those, although he has had a busy time of it lately. I'm quite keen on using wooden tools, but like natural stones too. I like to collect them for myself, leaving the usual gifts of thanks, of course. :)
Brightest Blessings.

Yes, they're lovely aren't they Lakota? He does his burning work with a soldering iron, of all things, which I would think makes them quite hard work, so I think he made an excellent job of them. I will treasure them, but work with them and am very optimistic about the results. :)
Brightest Blessings my dear friend. x

Yes, I have waited a long time, but can understand why the delay. He said it took him ages to put all the meanings and everything in writing, but that again, makes them so special and I don't really mind waiting.
I shan't bring them anywhere near the little fella or he will attack the bag, the way it smells. ha ha ha.
Hope you had a good journey up, Gabs. Didn't get lost, did ya??? ;P Have a good time whilst you're with the kids.
Love and hugs. xxx

Thank you Purple... shhhhhhhhhh, you don't know exactly what he's like around Patchouli!!! I took a video of him which I've tried to put in YouTube and tried to send to Gabs, but I keep being told it's too big, and have no idea of how to cut it down. A pity... because our friends would be amazed to see it. I couldn't take my eyes off him!!! ha ha ha.
I don't blame him though... Patchouli has a very engaging scent... hmmmmmmmm, wonder why my friend put that in! :) I did wonder. *whistles nonchalantly* he he.
Brightest Blessings my dear friend.

I went in and looked at the picture first, since I get this in e-mail. I wanted to know what I was commenting on. From the picture it appears that these are slices of wood with their symbols wood burned onto them, is that correct? They are not quite as I had imagined from the books I had read. I always heard of rune sticks. I am glad to see what these are like. My husband looked over my shoulder at some of your previous discussions, and said "What are runes?" so I could tell him some. When he gets back, I will be sure to show him this picture you have uploaded.

I believe rune sticks were used many years ago. They used to drop them on the ground and read them from the way they had fallen, much in the way that Natives did with bones.
However, I much prefer these. They're so much easier to carry. Some are made from gemstones, some from small pebbles even and some from wood. They're all nice; it's just that I like the warmth, smell and feel of wood, and the fact that they were made for me. I'm making lots of wooden items for my altar and other things, so it will be nice to have them all looking similar.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Oh, how lovely! It is indeed a wonderful gift! I wish you the best with them! :)
Now I'm tempted to get in crafting mode and make myself some. My husband tends to use the ones that we received as a wedding gift, so having my own set would be kind of neat. I'll have to think on it!
You are lucky to have such an artistic and caring friend! Brightest blessings!

Yes, they were a wonderful gift and one which I will treasure, if not for the looks and feel of them, for the care that went into them.
Why don't you? If you crafted your own, then they would be more personal to you. It's nice to have them in a pouch which you can carry around with you, too.
Brightest Blessings my friend.

Ah, now I think I might know somewhere you can get them. I'll have a search when I've finished my other work. Why don't you try to make them yourself? They would be more personal to you and the energies would be stronger, if you make them with intent.
Anyway, I have a couple or three places on the net who make things from wood... I'll scout around for you, Nancy.
Brightest Blessings my friend.

you know I know very little about runes but that I respect how much they mean to you and know how much you were looking forward to receiving them! I do think they look beautiful and if I were you I wouldn't take them with you next time you visit Gabs - I have a funny feeling Giss would not let you take them back home with you! xxxxx

Oh wow Darkwing, those runes are so beautiful!! I bet you're doing a happy dance about them and I know you waited a long time for them...have you "cleansed" them? I always do that when I get something new. Did you say Pachouli...hope Gissi isn't reading this..LOL

I haven't cleansed them yet, but will probably take time to do it tomorrow. There's something else I need to do then, so I can marry to two together.
Yes... PATCHOULI... is what I said. lol. I'm still trying to fathom the reason why he dowsed the bag in patchouli and then put it in an envelope which would hold the scent. hmmmm. Yes, it's quite a good oil to use in divination, especially if mixed with something else, like lavender, but its other properties made me ponder, especially with some of the things mentioned since. he he.
Brightest Blessings my friend. x

I cannot believe four weeks have passed since I've been here to your site.I've been busy with other commitments and work...had to finish an article for my column and two other ones I've been working on.
Anyway great to see the Runes. Your friend did a wonderful job...and put a lot of tender, loving care for you. I am sure you will gain much insight from them...I use my Runes a lot and have always been given invaluable clarity to any situation. It will be good to hear what you gain from your experiences with them. May they continue to illuminate your path with the truth and clarity you seek.
Wishing you all good things...your friend and soul sister Raia.

You're quite welcome, and the Runes are quite precious to me, along with your feathers and picture and the faery book that my other friend sent me. They will all be treasured for life because they are well-chosen, powerful gifts to me.
Yes, I do believe that our bond is bigger than what we share on this plane, and I value that bond too. There a a few people I bond with in this way, but only a few. They feel it too... in fact, it would surprise me if we are all part of a much larger cirle.
Brightest Blessings, come with hugs. x

Just noticed that you gave me the best response on this discussion. Thank you. I hope you are enjoying your Runes and that they continue to illuminate your path and provide insights on your journey.
I have been busy with work and house projects and haven't been here as much. Miss chatting with you...but you are come into my mind and heart and it is always with great fondness.
Take care my precious soul sister...our bond is bigger than what we share on this plane...and we both know that.
Warm and loving regards,
Raia

Thank you Pattie... yes, he made a great job of them with just a soldering iron????? lol. I am really so pleased with them as to my mind, home-made tools and gifts are the best ever. This guy and I have a very strong, spiritual connection, which makes the runes that bit more special to me, and the thought with which they were made and gifted is very much appreciated. I shall indeed, treasure them, as I told him.
Brightest Blessings my dear friend. x
