i think better to buy laptop because you can bring it with you everywhere you go and no need more for space like pc after you finish you can keep it or hide it in the drawer i hope also i can buy a laptop this year or by next year you should buy the good one and a high quality brand name of laptop:-)

that all depends on the type of user you are.
if you're the type who's always on the go and always needs to carry work around, then your best option is a laptop. only drawback is the fact that you have limited battery power, so you'll always have to bring the adapter.
if you're the stay-at-home type, then theres no contest, PC is the one for you. plus if you're the techie type, you can tinker with it all you want (which is what i hate about laptops coz you can barely do any hardware upgrades with it).

By next year, I might be the type of person who's always on the go that's why I'm thinking about buying a laptop but it's more expensive than a desktop...

ask yourself, what do you want?
desktops are good for: stability, bigger storage.
laptops are good for: mobility, convenience.
if you get a macbook, then it's pretty stable. if you need a PC laptop, go for Dell, especially the corporate-leased used ones; they're the most stable. toshiba, asus, acer, lenovo, sony, are also good brands. hang around in CNET and you'll find the best brands to your specs. :)
tip: save yourself the headache. NEVER buy a substandard-brand laptop. my friend bought a NEO and she has had problems from Day 1. Same with another friend who bought a Blue. And another who bought a Links laptop. So you get the picture. when it comes to laptop, seek stability.
when it comes to a desktop, just make sure you have a good motherboard and a Seagate hard drive. :)
good luck!

Buying a pc or laptop depends on your primary needs for it and also your budget. If your budget is tight then i would advice you to buy a pc because it is cheaper than laptop, but if you got enough money then laptop is the best because first thing it is portable with inbuilt rechargeable battery and in-built modem so you can roam with wherever you want to. The advantages of a laptop out-way pc. So please evaluate the options well. Good luck.

i think buying laptop makes more sense as you get all the features of desktop on laptop except the smaller screen.

It comes down to what you want to use it for.
PC:
+Better system for less money
+Can be easily upgraded as technology advances.
-Not portable
Laptop:
+Portable
-Limited upgrades available
-More expensive for less powerful hardware
-De-depreciates faster
That should give you an idea what is going to suit you better.

Really? Laptop depreciates faster? So it means the PC has a lot of advantages than the laptop, the only good thinng about laptop is they are portable.

if it's me, I prefer a laptop than a desktop coz laptop is very mobile, so I can use it anywhere I like ^___^

It depends, if you're fond of travelling to other places, then laptop is more useful and convenient for you.
If not, if you just want to use it at home, then using a desktop computer is much more convenient, functional, and stable for you to use.:-)

normally you choose between laptop or pc depending from your attitude such as if you have the need to move with your pc,having a wi-fi connection whn you are not at home and all themes linked to the compuer on the mov..so i think laptop is suitable for your need..if you normally surf or have no need to move and computer can be at home as well so you can buy a pc as well..normally laptop in this lasy period is good too because is powerful as a pc and so is not as in the past where there is a difference between the pc-laptop capability!!
laptop generally are more fragile than pc..so you can also be a little be more care about it..but in general laptop are good too..depending just which kind of technology you want buy!!

Of course i recommend a laptop rather than PC. The fact that laptop is portable and handy. Anywhere you go you cn have your laptop unlike your pc which is only confined in your room. SO i think you must buy laptop than pc.

laptops are portable and easy to handle..but these are not that much powerful to give you all the comfort, such as graphics, speed etc..it will cost you more if you excel in laptop configuration..so if portability is your second priority then go for a PC,otherwise go for a laptop..

if you are an outgoing type of a person a laptop is a necessity but if you stay much of your time indoors a desktop is what i recommend.and since your profile picture is a sleeping lady i guess you stay most of the time indoors so i recommend you to get a desktop.

PC is much better than laptop because it can easily be upgraded, expand and change if you have money. Laptops seems to be fixed in some areas of hardware like additional hard disk and memory. Laptops compact structure limits its expandability unlike Desktop. so, I prefer you to have Desktop computer than laptop.

i think a laptop is much better than a pc according to my personal experience.i owned a pc for last 8 years but its since two years when i got a laptop i experienced th real power and mobility.moreover a laptop too has lan cards and graphic accelerators as standard which u have to additionally buy with a pc.
the only main disadvantage with a laptop could be if u r a Gamer.as hardware upgrades r not possible.so if u buy p4 and after a year or so when theres p5,many of the games would not run.and u have to just buy a new one for yourself.otherwise laptop is a better choice but go only for the trusted brands like APPLE,SONY,LENOVO...
