Pagan music?

Before the last time my computer crashed, I had some pagan music on it, but I wound up losing it all due to my faulty second hard drive. I did a few searches for pagan music on google and such, but I often come up with bands that have "pagan" in the name but are really just some metal group, and things like that. Does anyone listen to pagan music? Do you have artists, websites, or CDs that you could recommend to me? I'm dying to have some good pagan music again... so please help me out if you know any! Thanks! =)

Yeah, I've been trying to get to finding some pagan music as well recently. I mean, I tried ages ago. But I feel like now's an excellent time to try to add a few more to my collection. I mean I occasionally have a pagan-y sounding song from a "normal" band, but the only real Pagan band I know of is Moving Breath. They do some pretty classic pagan songs, like "We all Come from the Goddess" and others. I'll be sure to keep an eye on this thread for more, and if I find any I'll message ye, dearie ^_^

I love almost all type of music. There are a couple I could do without. :p It's funny to me because when I was a kid all the pagan music happened at festivals and stuff, but I never saw it anywhere else. It's neat having the internet now to connect with other pagans, since I can't always go anywhere these days. I was hoping for a lot of suggestions of new music for me to listen to here. :)

"Unto Ashes" are a good band if you haven't already heard of them, they are on myspace and you but their albums on itunes and find them in various other places on the net.

No, I haven't heard of them! Thanks so much for the suggestion! I'll have to look them up. :) Thanks so much for your help! I was actually a little worried this discussion might not get any responses, because I wasn't sure how many people would be interested, so it's great to see you here.

That's Ok there's quite a few Pagans on here, have you got it added as an interest? You can also put it under "Things I want to do with my life" I think too.

*nods* I have it added, and I've talked to a lot of pagans here, but I find if I put anything under "paganism" it gets very few responses. I've been here almost a year now, and I've tried several times on this, so that's why I put things under "religion" now, because more people see it then. :P

Well I don't know if you would call it exactly pagan music but do listen to New Age. I love David Arkenstone who does a lot of very mystical sounding music...I did a quick search for you of websites that sell Pagan music http://www.paganmusic.com/music.htm http://www.isisbooks.com/wiccan-pagan-music.asp http://www.serpentinemusic.com/cgi/annehill/ps.pl?ACTION=enter&thispage=main.html&ORDER_ID=!ORDERID! Of course pagan/wiccan websites that sell pagan/wiccan paraphenalia might be a great place to look..Like Azure Green, and hey don't forget about WitchVox, they have a section about pagan music This website has free downloads of music http://www.glasstemple.com/music/

Because I'm not Christian, I'm Pagan. So I'm not interested in Christian music.

Hmm, there's some Christian music that I've kind of enjoyed just for the music value. I've had Christian friends, and my husband is Christian, so it's not like I've never heard any of it. In fact, for a while I was going to a lot of Christian music stuff because of a guy I liked at the time... but... I don't actively look for Christian music because it doesn't have any real meaning for me.

I'm much the same Lecanis. I like a couple bands who profess themselves to be christian, but I don't actively look for christian music. Those bands being Creed and Skillet lol. Creed is just one of the first bands I ever listened to and liked, and Skillet I recently discovered and loved immediately because anyone can like their songs and find meaning in them. They're just that flexible. Helps they're hard rock and slightly gothic sounding too..so.. lol.

You might try one of the "evil" peer to peer networks such as Ares or Limewire to rebuild your collection. Of course I would never use such things because that's "stealing" music. You don't want to "steal" from the greedy recording companies because they are just SOOOO poor and they ALWAYS share what little wealth they have with the artists that actually DO the work (rolls eyes).

*laughs* The issue is that I don't really have any specific names of pagan bands or musicians, so I can't just search on such networks. If I search for "pagan" I come up with all kinds of stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do with paganism, so that's why I was hoping for recommendations on actual musicians and such.

I am not familiar with pagan music. And I don't know any artist who sings pagan music. Sorry buddy. What we have here mostly is christian music since most of filipinos are christians.

*nods* I think that's the case in a lot of the world, most people being Christians. *shrugs* There is pagan music out there though, I've heard some, it's just harder to find. ;P

Yes, I've noticed that! Before my computer crashed and I lost everything, I never had any problem finding pagan music. However, from the recommendations on this discussion, I should be able to have plenty now! YAY!!! =) Once I get some nice chants going on the computer, my 1 1/2 year old son will dance for my rituals. :)
