I have been told by my doctor and a nurse at the public health department that I need to get my flu shot since I am about 3 months pregnant right now. My first son was born Dec. 7 so I never needed one. What do you guys think??? I really don't want to get it....

It's probably not a bad idea to get a flu shot just in case but I've never heard of it being absolutely necessary. It still is your body so if you don't want it then you have that right. I've had 6 children (although the way their birthdates fell I was only approached about a flu shot twice) and I have never had a flu shot. Doctors and nurses should be there to SUGGEST and explain your options, they should never force anything on you that you don't want.

I have a doctors appointment this week and I am going to talk to her about it again. I am just not sure if I want it. Although my son is in school this year and bringing all his germs home.... I am just not sure what to decide!

You should really get one. I know it sucks but its for your protection and that of your unborn child. If you get the flu while pregnant it could be very bad for both of you! It's one shot that will help protect you and your children from harm. The flu kills each year.

I have 2 kids and I never got a flu shot when I was pregnant. Actually I ahve never had a flu shot in my 29 years of life. Both of my kids were born in January. I don;t remember the doctors even suggesting it.
