The "N" Word Is Being Banned!

Well I think that is all good and all, that something offensive is going to be banned, but if our goal is equality of all races, shouldn't all racial slurs be banned? Racism comes in every color and I think that the fight against it should be equal for every shade we come in. Unfortunatly some groups receive much more support and and sympathy than others. I think it is time we all got over ourselves and gave up all the racial slurs. I mean really, there are so many better reasons to hate people than the color of thier skin, if you want to hate people just go drive in rush hour traffic, or get on an over crowded subway, you'll find a whole rainbow of people with a whole rainbow of flaws much more hateable than a color.

I don't like the word as well however I do have a problem with the banning issue and the use of this word. Simply put, I have seen white ppl use this word and lose jobs, reputations and be considered lower than pond scum for daring to call a black person this word. At the same time, I have seen black ppl call each other the EXACT SAME WORD and it isn't a big deal. Now how can the same word be offensive to black ppl when one person uses it but not offensive when another person uses it?? The word F*g is another word that is the same way. If a straight person calls a gay person a F*g then it's offensive and deragatory but if a gay person calls another gay person THE SAME WORD then it's ok. I think ppl need to get over the whole issue. It's simply a word...if you think it's offensive, fine but don't hold double standards. "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS" **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I agree with you wholeheartedly on the use of this word. It should be stopped everywhere. I have been following the news stories on this, and what happened with Dog the Bounty Hunter, but I don't remember seeing anything about fines, where did you hear this?
