I have to agree that it was poor ratings. I also am not sure if the premise for the 4th season would work. Fast forward to veronica mars in the fbi? Then the show would lose the majority of the cast and I don't think that would be a good idea.

the 12 minute "trailer" of the fast forward to the FBI idea that they filmed, with Kristen Bell as the only original cast member, is up on youtube.

The show was near brilliance.. but the bottom line was the poor marketability due to its poor ratings..
Plus, the end of WB/UPN and its convertion to CW, likely created company conflicts that lead to its ultimate demise...
Leading me to have another fav. show that got axed, next to Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, and Studio 60....

Actually they canceled it before the season was even over... but they allowed it to run its course, regardless...
But sadly there is no second season on the horrizon...

Yes, it was low ratings. The way the show was structured, it made it hard for new viewers to come in and understand what was happening unless they watched from the very beginning. They tried to fix this in the third season with more "mini mysteries" instead of the season long mysteries, but the long-time fans were angered and many stopped watching. It's a shame, because the first two seasons were absolutely brilliant.

I have to agree with what you wrote. I didn't watch the third season. I'm starting to watch them now.

Definitely watch the first two seasons. They were excellent. Especially the first season. That imho, was the best season. It seemed like V was more invested in that mystery.

See and I MISSED the first two seasons. I started watching it during it's 'mini mysteries' time, and I enjoyed it. But now that I know that the first 2 seasons were better, I think i'll be getting them on Netflix or something like that.
Thanks for your comment.

It is said that because the poor rating and a neo teenager drama "Gossip Girl",CW has to cancel Veronica Mars. I was looking foward to Verocnica's FBI life. Now this news let me down. Good news is that you can see Kristen Bell in "Gossip Girl" and Logan in "Moonlight",if you pay attention to these dramas.
