Hi my friends, a while ago a post a discussion about how can you save lifes by giving blood, and I said that you can do it every two month, because that is the information I got from the blood center... So I started giving blood every two months, but the other day I was talking with my mom and she told me that she was watching a program on TV and they were talking about the same topic, but they said that it is not recomendable to give blood that often because your body get used to give blood, and then can became a need for you to do it, if not you will feel bad... they said is a feeling like you have too much blood and your arteries are going to explode... I want to give blood as much as I can, but I do not want to be sick... Do you know anything about it? Please help!!

I know for me it is not good to give blood, seeing as I have alot of problems, am usually very tired and have had alot of stress. I need my blood. But on the other hand , if I were healthy and felt good, why not? I do think every two months is a bit much. But if you feel up to it. I think I would stik to once every 6 months. When you have a cold or flue, don´t give blood on those days. Then you will definitly be giving yourself more problems. And, have you noticed that now adays, everything that is suppose to be good; people are saying it´s bad? It´S like the smokers ( I smoke sometimes too), they tell you this is bad, that is bad, but they don´t look at there cigerett burning into their lungs. Sport is suppose to be healthy, how many times has a runner had a heart attack while running a race? Come on, what is good? What is bad? Do what you think is right. I am learning this too. Take care, have a nice day.

It feels really good to help other people... and until now I did not have any problem by donate blood... but you are right may be a good point do it not that often... Thanks for your answer!

In my place after I had donated my blood, our government will give one small data card for blood donor. Like mine, it stated; my name, identity number, age, gender and residential address. I donated my blood for three times, so far. And the last one was Jun 2, 2005. What is the waiting period from one blood donation to the next? The waiting period to donate blood is 56 days (you can donate up to 6 times per year) http://seniorhealth.about.com/library/prevention/bl_blood_donation.htm
