When you see someone playing do you automatically think they are addicted? There are many addictions like drug, drinking, abuse etc and then theres gambling where ive seen people loose everything they had over some stupid game with wheels spinning. My cousin uses the grocery money taking a chance and then they end up with no food and their children suffer because of her.Its pathetic!Ive even seen some become enraged when it didnt turn out the way they expected loosing hard earned cash and cannot pass one by without sticking a bill in one to see the outtakes and if its their lucky day.Why is it sooo addictive? What is your view on these machines?

Games of pure chance, NO thanks! Give me something where there's a little strategy & skill involved or I'm bored. Heck if I want to dump quarters into a machine to see if I can get anything out of it I'll just go to the vending macines here at work, my chances are about as good.
Wait , the lights are flashing... There's some strange noises... Woohooo, I got a Kit Kat, Really wanted a snickers though,,, Should I play again?
Ok, I will... Lights flash, noises ... wait some Funions are moving........NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they didn't fall..... Darn it.
SHAKES The MACHINE VIOLENTLY...
Freakin kept my Funions !!!!

I do not see there being a problem with having gambling machines as I have tried them myself. They are fun to play but they can be very addicting and can cause financial problems for individuals and their families. Casinos bring in a lot of money to some states. I think people need to be better educated on how to deal with their money and gambling issues.

Hi peanutjar!
I don't play those machines, and the reason I don't is because I know someone who was VERY addicted and lost everything. Their too busy worrying about how much they COULD win as opposed to how much they have already spent plugging the machine.

Hi PurpleTeddyBear!:)
My brother-in-law is the same and we kind of do not associate with him any more due to this and asking to borrow money from everyone he knows to play.

I can personally speak from experience. gambling is wrong and should be illegal. Fact is, it ruins peoples lives and yet it's allowed to go on. Most people who finally do hit it big are either too old to enjoy it or people who are finally breaking even after years of gambling abuse. The best way to beat the casinos, is to never start in the first place.
They are in the business to make money and not loose it. Occasioanlly they'll feed a winner only to take it back a thousand tims over from other people. I watched a movie one time and the casino owner put it best " what business can you have, where you can take peoples money and don't have to give anythign back in return"
I was a sport betting addict. I played some online casino blackjack first lost hundreds which eventually became a couple thousand. Only now do I realise these casinos use automated machines that are rigged. So when you bet big you will eventually loose. WHen you bet little, you win, onyl to entice you to bet big. It's all bulls^&%
That's what I realised, so i started putting my money on sports games that I love. Not only did I loose, I lost BIG. It's amazing how an underdog can somehow find a way to beat the top dogs. Picking a winner in sports is equivalent to flipping a coin in the air- anythign can happen.
I have finally wisened up and realised I will never beat the casinos. SO i have stoppd for good. Wish I could say the same for others

Personally, I think they are a waste of time and money. I suppose they'd be considered fun if you had nothing else to do and a few bucks to throw away.
A friend of mine lives up North and she goes every Thursday like clockwork. She blows about $40 and spends the whole day there. I couldn't do that.

Hi twoey68:)
I did it once and won but tried it again and only lost like $5.00 and never tried again,it is something not for me and i'm not a person who likes to loose hard earned money by a money eating machine.

I think its the thrill of winning, not even what they win. I had an aunt that would spend all her money on bingo. Her kids would go hungry, the house would need things, and she couldn't afford it because she just had to go to bingo every time they had it. She would even borrow money to go to bingo. I don't associate with her much now, so I don't know if she is still the same way.

There is a gamling boat in the town where I live, it you go in there any time of the day or night it will be full of people. I have been in there twice both times I went with $20 and lost both times and left and I have lived here 11 years. I guess people get addicted to them and can't stop.

I lived in a place that gambling is legal. I lived there for 7 years. While it's true that some people get addicted, but no way do I assume that everyone that gambles is. I have gambled before on different occasions. I didn't lose everything. I didn't have crazy urges to go back. I didn't even lose everything in my pocket. I've won before too. I've been in casinos many many times and didn't play a single penny.
Just like everything in life, you have to have limits.

no i do not think that that person is addicted when i see him playing at the machine but i do believe that it is wrong to LET people get addicted to it. a lot of casino count on the people to get addicted and to waist their money playing those silly games.

I have only been to the casino one time but i seen a guy no joke playing three machines at once which ok he loves to gamble but he was also smoking three cigs at the same time. I felt bad for him and his family if he has one. I have heard of people wetting them selfs at the machines because they think it is do to hit and dont want to lose it. I think if you let yourself get that sucked in you need help really but a person who goes to vegas once a year is ok.

I would say one has to monitor the use of these games.. If a person is so addicted that everything they have is played on these machines..then there needs to be some change.
Some people know how to control themselves and they do not over do it. I have known peoeple though, even during the big lottery, who mortgaged their house to buy thousands of numbers..only to win nothing but a bigger mortgage.
Everyone has to examine their own conscience and know themselves ..whether they can control their desire to play the gambling machines..

I think people should never put their money on gambling because one never knows what is going to happen. Gambling is for those who are real rich and have a lot of money and do not really know how to spend their money. They can play because they are no short of money. But, gambling is not for those people who work for their living, and have many commitments and family to look after. They cannot risk their hard earned money in gambling. They can play for fun with no money involved and enjoy the game but never put your money in gambling. You can enjoy the game only when it is not with money.

These kind of things initially start for fun and then slowly become addicted. In india many states have banned this gambling &lottery. If you observe, 99% of participating people are loosers and the one is the winner, so it is always better for the governaments to ban these kind of things.

Hi Peanut,
Gambling machines can be fun. It is entertaining for a while, but then it gets boring. I usually play for a while and get so bored with it, that I go walking around to see how others are doing.
I have been to Las Vegas and played in the casinos. I'm not a winner so I don't expect to win, and don't try very hard to win. I heard it said that "Las Vegas was not built on winners", and I believe that. Lots of losers have visited Las Vegas. You can play in a lot of casinos there, as long as you are not expecting to win, you may be ok.
It is just like playing anywhere else. You need to know your limits, whether it be time or money. Playing for fun isn't bad, but trying to make a profit from gambling could be a problem. The odds are not very good. I do not think I am as addict when it comes to gambling because I know that I can't afford to go beyond my limits.
Happy posting..

Hi! I dislike those machines and I do think people who run business of that are doing sth they shouldn't do.As is known to all, gambling is always bad and make people suffer and make many families break completely.Whenever I see sb playing those machines,I have the feeling it seems they're in another world and they're really addicted to that.As a result, they don't remember anything when they're gambling. The only thing that matters is the result that they could win.I don't know what to say to them.I just hope they can realize gambling can only be harmful one day and get rid of it thoroughly.
