Who else thinks this is the most amazing movie ever?

Strawberry Fields Forever - A scene from the movie where Jude gets mad at lucy for spending all her time trying to protest the war. She says he doesn't care. He gets frustrated because he too is upset that his friend and her brother is in vietnam but he shows it in different ways. In this scene he takes the strawberries from the still life he's trying to paint and uses them to create an american flag with strawberries on the wall which are dripping with juice. This is Meant to represent blood and the loss of life that is going on in vietnam.

I thought this movie was beautiful. I saw it twice and own the soundtrack! Artistically everything fit together perfectly. I also liked how the movie had a message about war and violence and the different walks of life. It touched on all the important aspects of the 60's. In fact its definately a history lesson in itself. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought of this movie good or bad?

aahh I thought it was AMAZING. I love 60s hippie movies (because I am a hippie inside haha). I am also a big fan of musicals... because I am a theatre nerd. And the Beatles are amazziinnggg. They did a really good job with all the songs too! (well I didn't like Mr. Kite very much... the scene was cool but I hated how Eddie Izzard only spoke the words... why didn't he sing?) It totally fit into the 60s... the way it was done was soooo trippy. haha

Hehe Theatre nerds rock! I used to be one. A lot of people didn't like mr. kite. Its a song I skip on the soundtrack but I think it was well done. It was trippy and weird. I think it left most people feeling a bit uneasy inside. I hadn't heard the song before. I thought it might be one of lennon's spoken word pieces. The fact that he didn't sing was probably a directers decision.

I'll have to download the original and see what its like. Well there is still a rhythem when Eddie Izzard performs the song. Its kinda like spoken poetry.

Yeah, it probably was. Yay for artistic license! Mr. Kite isn't necessarily "sung" but its definitely not spoken either. There's an actual tune, in any case. haha. So this version bothered me.

no, but i will look for this in Blockbusters or my local library..as the libray is very up to date..I lived thru the 60-s and know when the beetles started that was the time Elvis was still the KING..

I loved this movie too. The music was phenomenal, the movie was amazing. I bought the movie last weekend. I've got most of the soundtrack on my play list since the first time I saw it and I've got the songs stuck in my head all the time. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Even Bono was amazing and I can't stand U2.

Yes I love the soundtrack! I bought it 3 days after I saw the movie. Its really amasing. I think they did a really good job of finding people who could sing and act.

I didnt even ever hear about it. If you say its so good i'll sure find a way to watch it. The fact that it covers the 70s culture (if i undrstood correctly) is a definite plus for me. Thanks for the tip.
