They're talking about Thanksgiving on all the shows on the Food Network today, so I decided it was time to "talk turkey"! Has anyone here ever had grilled turkey? That may seem strange to you but a few years ago my daughter woke up early Thanksgiving morning to discover her oven wasn't working. Needless to say, there was no way to get it repaired that day and she was having all of us to her home for dinner. Well, after the initial " Oh, NO, WTF are we going to do now" reaction my daughter and her husband remembered they had a perfectly good gas grill right on their back porch and decided it was at least worth a try to prepare the turkey there. I gotta tell you, it was absolutely delicious! Golden brown on the outside and moist and tasty on the inside, it ranked among our best Thanksgiving feasts ever. Have any of you ever tasted or prepared a grilled turkey? I'd highly recommend it!

Yes, anniepa, I have had grilled turkey, and it is very good. My mother discovered it several years ago via a friend who prepared it that way. I have always liked turkey and can't imagine it being prepared any way that I wouldn't like it. This will be my first holiday without my mother and I don't know how I am going to get through it.

Yes. It is a little tricky if you are used to an indoor kitchen. Try smoking some.

uhh... this made my mouth watery... lol... good tasting, juicy turkey... We usually have chicken here instead of turkey. Dunno why turkey here are not so abundant like chicken.
