Have you ever experienced going to discos?

Honestly speaking, since I came out of this world, I have never set foot even once to discos before. I find going to these a waste of time (for me of course) and I actually hate on-and-off lights around me. I'd rather stay in my room and grab a computer programming book, or get a history book or open an eBook to read something of great import and spend my time reading what I have in my hands (I don't read romantic stories hehehe). I too hate a lot of people around me... Well, I might just be an "ultra-introvert." I only require few people around me, or to be talking with me. Comments are welcome! Good day to all!

Good to hear that you spend your time now with children! Time-sharing with special people really is more important then having gone to discos just to waste resources... :)

I guess I did attend some discos during my younger days...in the 70's our discos are held in private residences...believe it or not, and more often than not, I have gone to a lot of jam sessions (that's the popular term of it then). However, things have drastically changed because when I was in my 4th year in college, I did not like to attend to parties of this sort...I'd rather practice volleyball then. These days, it's totally out of the picture. I'd rather stay home and keep our house, read books during weekends since my work keeps me busy the entire week...

However for me, I stick my nose to the books (except for romantic books) when I was in elementary, high school and college. And believe it or don't, my nose is still stuck to those whenever I do programmings and wanted to consult with a guide for some new features that programming language might give me. I too have been very busy, and I usually don't have time for myself, psyche. During my student days, I studied, studied, studied and studied. During my "professional" days now, I work, work, work and work.

I've tried once. I don't like going to discos that much. I don't like the noise. I hate seeing crazy people and b*****s. But I'm not saying that all people that go discos are like this but most of them are.

Hahahahaha! That is why I hate discos, gorgeous. I may not have been in an actual disco but I have seen one on TVs and with some stories from my friends and the crazy things they do there.
I am with you!

disco bars were my favorite hang-out when I was in college. because I love dancing! ^__^ unlike you, I don't mind so many people bustling around me, dancing, walking to and fro, or just drinking. I don't mind them coz I mind my own and my friends. and I don't have any problem with the disco lights, I actually like the dim lights and the disco light balls. I like dancing in the dark. LOL

Good for you then, secretbear! I guess we're just having different ideas how we see things like discos or something. Not all people are the same... and I believe in multiple intelligences... as long as we do good in any place we are in, and that we're having fun doing it, I think that's fine.. Have a great day, bear! I appreciate your views!

Sure I have! We all got to try everything at least once right? =)
But like you, I didn't like that noisy kind of environment.
The loud music blasting around and the smoking environment just don't suit me.
I do drink and all but I prefer more... refined environment. ^^

Hehhehe... I never drink even once in my life... Hehehe.. Never smoke, and I too hate loud sounds. And I will not risk it trying ALL once.... I would see first what I would be trying to do and analyze it... :)

I was yet below 10 years old during the 80s! I was born in 1981, and that makes me almost 26 now! Maybe discos before were a lot more different than they are now.. Well, only those who have gone to discos to tell!! Hehehehe... Nice to have you here too, LavenderPower... One of my fave colors that is!

I have been to a bunch of discos with friends and sometimes cousins. It's fun to drink and dance and just hang out and have fun. But I don't go to clubs/discos all the time like some people do. I actually prefer hanging out with my boyfriend or friends at someone's house, where we drink and gamble and stuff. It's fun to go out partying once in a while, but it's not something I would do all the time.

hi ebtenorio!
I love going to discos. I am 19 and I think this is the right time to enjoy my life. I am not a very big party animal but I set my foot an the dance floor 5 to 6 times a month.......
I dont think that its the waste of time, in fact, one should render some time from his/her busy schedule for these type of activities to chill and relax....
Also, It increases communication to other people thus increasing your freinds circle and even icresing your bussiness clients!
According to me, going to discos, hitting the dance floor and giving some cool moves is not a bad idea at all!

I appreciate your view about discos, MUKUL... I am 25 now but then I have not really been wanting to even enter a disco house. I think I could do relaxing or chilling out at home in my own way... Heheheheh... I have a PC and I think I could dance with a reggae.. ! Hehehehe...
I agree with you, Fenano!

Like you, I also haven't stepped in disco bars. I hate the noise and the loud music is killing me. Also, I hate lights. Honestly, exposure to lights really makes me sleepy and I don't know why..so ironic. Hehehe..Also, I consider it to be a really waste of time and money and energy of course.. I can't find any reasonable benefits of going to. I'd rather stay at home or with friends watching movie. :)

Hi, we are actually sharing the same sentiments. But i was able to join discos in the past with my friends. But as i grew older, i started to hate these places. I find the blinking light so hypnotizing that makes me dizzy.. And also the smoke (because i don't smoke, though i drink a little). And up to this time, when someone ask me to go to these places i abruptly say no. As if there is nothing good to me. I just don't enjoy. I'd rather stay all night alone listening to music or watching tv alone. SO i can say that your being distant from this places is just alright. It's normal. Go on with it and live a normal life.

I don't like going to discos too. When I was younger, teenager, I go to discos with my friends but I will be left in the seat because I don't dance. For me, I prefer watching the television or playing on the computer will be better.

I have experienced disco's and you haven't missed much. It's fun when you go with a group of friends, you definitely end up laughing alot, which is good for your soul. But, to truly meet someone special, you'd need to meet that person with the lights on :)

I've never experienced a disco, although I do have a few cousins who used to "liven" up really dull wedding receptions...I think disco was just a really big growing pain.
