I have just read a blog about the Dog the Bounty Hunter and his use of the N word, among other things. I am not here to defend the man or to crucify him. But as I read the blog I wondered if there is a difference in having a preference, maybe even a prejudice in one area, and being a racist. What do you think?

Racism is where one group of people is treated unfairly. It often cuts more than one way. As an Australian, I see a lot of South African whites being forced out of their country by the desires of the blacks to become more equal. This appears to have happened to such an extent that it would be fair to say that it is now not the whites, but the blacks who are practising racism.

I was not aware of the situation in South Africa. When I was a kid, when the whites began to move out of a neighborhood, it was because of a disdain for the blacks moving in.
But I know that racism is not only a trait of white people!

i am a black man and i feel maybe dogg the bounty hunter was wrongly punished for what he said this is why, because some times it's not what you say it's how you say it . a black man might get offended when he is called a "n*&%er" but then he's not upset when he is called a "n%#%a" and further more alott of shows like mad tv has been using the word "negro" so where's the n.a.a.c.p? where's alsharpton? or where's all the protest of racismn? i think a majority of the worlds black people only get offended when people call them "n&^&*a's" instead of negro's or n%^%&a's or atleast a majority of the world smart black people . have a great day -oliver

the inconsistency from case to case is disturbing, and does not help clear up the problem!

I think certain behavior is wrong regardless of where you live. I don't like the N word and won't use it but at the same time, I don't understand how ppl can get so offended by when they use it themselves.
I also don't understand how ppl scream Freedom of Speech anytime they want to say what's on their mind but then want to ban a word b/c certain ppl find it offensive.

I grew up in the south in the fifties and never met a black person till I was about 15. Our high school integrated in my senior year and I began to learn that blacks were people just like me. I have dear friends of color now in several nations around the world. I try to treat everyone with the respect they deserve as my fellow man.
