Do you think electives are an important part of high school education?

What if schools removed high school electives, do you think that students would be at loss or do you think it would help students in focusing more on the core academics.

no elective subjects should not be removed. It gives students a chance to select subjects of their interests. At the same time it also gives an opportunity to understand various feilds which are helpful for students to decide about their heigher education.

They need to have some classes that they are allowed to pick. I think it would have been really boring if I had to just do the classes they had set for me. If they have electives they get to choose according to their interests and it will make learning a little better for them.
