League or Cup

What is your opinion? would you rather see Liverpool be successful in the cups or league.
At the start of this year I really thought we were going to concentrate on the Premier League. As much as I have enjoyed the success of LFC in the Champions League, UEFA, FA and Carling cups, it has been far too long since we were champions of England, and Man U are catching our record championship wins.
With our squad size I felt that the best players would be playing week in week out in the League and the rest of the squad would be given the run out in the cups. Therefore I would see Kuyt and Torres playing up front in the League and Crouch and Voronin playing in the cups
Playing our best eleven in the league and paying less attention to the cups could still see us being champions this year, but without playing our best eleven soon Arsenal and Man U may be too far clear.

It's been too long since Liverpool win the league so I'll go for it any year. I wouldn't want the manutd scums to beat the record of having the most titles!

I can see that they are concerntrating on winning the League since they are not holding the cup since the 80s.
I think they're not going to have the trophy this season but they still have the chance.
Next season will be a bit better to them. In 5 years from now, I think it will be a lot easier for them after their new stadium completed. By the revenue from the new stadium, they will have more money to be expensed...

well, at this point, it seems like there is no hope to succeed in the league. or even finish amongst the top three. i don't understand why they play so crap in the EPL.
I think the drama surrounding Rafa might have distracted players from concentrating on the game.
I hope next year they shape up and try to win the League again. It was fortunate that Chelsea suffered the disaster this year, otherwise they'd be far ahead of us too.

hi, i think that liverpool should concentrate only on the league and the champions league because its the most importing competitions that liverpool is going to participate in.Not taking the merite off any league cup winners because it i9s a hard competitions and if you loose your out of a cup so if a team slips agains another one and looses they have no other chance, their out of the cup. Its my respectfull opinion. Good luck here at mylot and continue to create discussions like you are doing.

For me, I would rather see them successful in the Cups simply because the reputation of such competitions are higher and the recognition is more European rather than just in England. However, you have a point when you say that Liverpool has not won the League for a couple of years, and I think they should put some emphasis on rebuilding some of their reputation in the League as well, putting them alongside the current top teams that are winning the League in the previous years.
