Thank you. I have a veteran in my home and he appreciates your kind thoughts. Yes, you have your St. Martin's Day and here we have a more solemn holiday, but any holiday is wonderful with a cozy home and loved ones by our side. A little home baked bread does not hurt either, dripping with olive oil and/or butter. Does that sound strange to you, putting both olive oil and butter on the bread? I do this when making garlic toast.

Oh, great, if it makes you feel any better, I just got done cooking a huge top sirloin beef steak with sauteed mushrooms and carmelized onions. I think we are having a bowl of dry cereal with milk for dinner though. Got to think about all those calories.

That's so good of you!
Hun is a vet, our son-in-law has been in the Middle East 3 times, and our grandson just enlisted... there ARE people in this country who want to serve and to help, no matter what the rest of the world hears! I know that they will appreciate your comments, and I will send them on to them. Thank you!

Hello again Silvana...
It is not surprising to me that you would post this heartfelt reminder to pause and honor all freedom fighters past and present. Like you relatives on both sides of my family of origin fought in both wars and I often wonder would kind of a world we'd have been born into without their valiant, courageous acts.
So yes, I am with you here...I lit a candle and reminded myself once again that soldier's bravery and sacrifices must always be remembered...not only today...but every day as we live within these troubled times.
Bright blessings to you and yours,
Raia

Thanks! There are many veterans out there that don't have anyone to thank them for their duty and what they have sacrificed in their time of service. So, this means a lot to me that you are thanking them!
